fact is this RS4 is the first not simply to look good and go hard but offer something beyond stodgy understeer to serious drivers. And that makes it not just a good car, but an excellent RS

Reviews are quite complimentary...I'm actually surprised.

Am waiting for some head-to-head's. That'll be a good read

Sounds very much like RS5 to be honest, you have to really get it revving and drive it like you stole it.I cant see it being more economical when theyve made it so you have to rev it higher to get it wriggling,if you increase usefull power 500 higher up the revrange thats 500 more squirts a min youve gotta fund! I think early reports sound fair regarding engine characteristics as its the same as my opinion after driving an RS5,awesome when at full chat that engine needs to be paired to that excellent gearbox to get a move on.

Hmmm...

One of the things I like about the B7 RS4 is that you can "connect" with it and appreciate it without driving flat out everywhere. Sounds like this isn't the case with the B8. Also sounds like the more electronic aids it has the worse it is - so finding a used one with the "right" spec in a year or two's time won't be easy as I suspect most will be "fully loaded" ...

Luke warm reviews, seems like Audi have failed to listen again. Another sales flop like the RS5...

Balanced review by Harris. Basically the chassis is there when wrung out, unlike the B7. However, there is no get up and go at the other end, unlike the B7. Perhaps it's chassis is too competent for the engine/torque. Sounds to me like it would have benefited from the extra oommph provided by the S6 bi-turbo engine. Maybe a RS4+ in the future?
