My 2015 RS4 came with Pirelli P Zeros from new, but they started cracking on the shoulders after nearly 2 years. I replaced them in late 2016 with Michelin PS2 RO1 tyres. I noticied today that all four were also now cracking on the shoulders. I also noticied that they were all made in mid 2015
I appreciate they are all due for replacement from age rather than mileage, and also because of the cracks, and 6 years for tyres on a performance car is perhaps a bit overdue
Having said that I'm surprised however that they have deteriorated to this extent.
What is the generally concensus re the best tyres for the RS4 currently? I only ask because what may have been considered the best say two years ago, may have been replaced by newer developments in tyres of other makes.
Price isn't really the main concern - performance of the tyre is the top priority in my book.

Currently running Michelin PS4's, cant fault them on wet or dry roads.

Agreed grip on the ps4s' are superb and I think the ride better than the pzeros too

4S all the way.

5S now out as well, or at least they are for the OEMs.

Won't be long until us mortals can get them I'm sure.

I think it is just the Pilot Sport 5 (PS5) that has been released - not a PS5S, and according to the info I found, and not in the size needed 265 30 20 surprisingly.....

The Pilot Sport S5 isn't available in 265 30 20's on any tyre suppliers websites - even on Michelins, so it looks like it's the PS4S if I decide to stick with the Michelins.

I’ve tried to buy conti sport contact 7s from two places now and been told after ordering that they can’t fulfil the order.

I’ve been offered Dunlop SP sport maxx GT as an alternative, does anyone have any experience of these?

ive run them on previous cars and while they lasted well i didnt think they were great on grip.

I am running Conti SP 7s. Really like them, chose them based on my experience of the winter Conti's I run. More grip than what I had with the Potenza's

I'm in the hunt for a kit of tyres in the next few months, the Pirellis which were new last year have covered 20k, which is decent, I'm a Michelin Man..bikes and cars, however Conti are a decent brand too. Be interesting to see what's available come October ish...

I really do need to sort out some tyres (holidays etc have got in the way!). Want an RO1 or RO2 tyre due to my Audi Extended Warranty (no quibbles then re any driveline or transmission issues), but the choice is limited. Pirelli P Zeros, Bridgestone Potenza S007 (RO2) are both possibles. I know P Zeros have had bad comments on here previously, but I drove a Porsche today with them and it drove and handled well, and they were quiet.
Continental Sport Contact 7 have been mentioned. I know Michelins are favourites of many but they don't do the RO spec tyres.
Anyone any experience of the above three?
