Keyless go

Hi all
Does anyone know if keyless go can be permanently disabled on the rs4?

Sadly am hearing of lots of cars (recently mostly BMWs in my area) where thieves are using powerful listening devices to get the car key signal and then taking parked cars from driveways in the night.

Seems like a real security risk and the best prevention police advise is using 'faraday' bags and/or boxes which use a wire mesh to block the key signal. This should prevent anyone from getting the signal code from the key.

Although this probably works it defeats any convenience keyless go might offer, hence wondering if it can be permanently disabled to remove the risk completely....

Dont know, maybe a wheel lock is the solution?

Yes I've seen quite a few steering wheel mounted locks on high end cars parked up on the street. Im sure they are effective but they just remind me of things you used to see on Vauxhall Novas in the 1990s Here's to technological progress

You should be able to de activate the key from the mmi so the button needs to be pushed to unlock the car

The faraday bag seems okay and keeps the key in good condition too!
But yes, additional wheel lock a good back up

I bought a couple of these, 2 for £5.95 seemed too good to turn down, they're much better quality than the price suggests. Doubles up as wallet when out and about, and just about the right size to slip into a pocket.

Home storage in one of these:

I guess it's easy to get paranoid...
