B8 RS4 Exhaust options

Greetings!

Sorry if this is a repeated thread.

Since the B8 was only sold in specific markets/regions worldwide, it is very hard to find aftermarket products for it.

I'm trying to source Midpipes and Downpipes compatible with the stock catback. Not interested in changing the stock catback yet.

I haven't found downpipes yet. However, found two Capriston Mid slinecer delete pipes, my question is as follows: Does it require any cutting of existing pipes or it is just a bolt on replacement?

Second of all, any recommended downpipes?

Darkside Developments do downpipes from Manifold back to mid section that are compatible with std exhaust . These delete the 2 small front silencers with no cutting of the exhaust.

I have a set to go on look great quality.

The exhaust from mid section back in one piece so would require cutting to add in a centre silencer delete.

take a look at Supersprint and Milltek, they offer options of upgrading only the front and mid section. I have the Supersprint and i kept the original cat-back with the sports exhaust valves.

In response to whether it requires cutting or not, yes it does require cutting, but the section where u need to cut is clearly marked by Audi, and once u cut it, u need to obtain the exhaust clamps: Part # 1K0 253 141 P
use the clamps on the section u cut to hold in place.

I think well thought I was an expert on exhausts having played with many on several RS6 R8 and RS3 but yet again I’m not totally happy with my first choice on the 4 .
I went for cat back Milltek res but with the American market non res front section.
It’s ok but still too boomy under load at low speed . Here we go again 😩😩😩😊

We went with Milltek resonated full exhaust - the change in sound is negligible.

I have just fitted a Capristo with Darkside Developments Fab Mafia downpipes.

Cruising around no resonance at all in either Comfort, Dynamic with Sport engaged so very very happy with this setup.

Comfort is a little quieter than a std sports exhaust in sports mode but with a deeper rumble.

Dynamic normal driving it sounds like a muscle car but not Asbo loud.

Plant your foot and all hell breaks loose.

Will try and get some vids in the next week.

Overall made me fall in love with the car again after springing a leak

I’m currently trying to decide which exhaust route to go down. Shame car meets are pretty much off again thanks to covid, hearing them in person is always the best.

Would be very interested to hear how this setup sounds.

I've fitted a non-res Miltek and I'm enjoying it but...…..the motorway drone is likely to become very tiresome.

Can anyone check if both standard exhaust (chrome tail pipes) and sports exhaust use the same rear boxes?

Yeah, really interested to hear this too.

Been lurking, looking at threads on exhausts for few months. Don't think i can justify the cost of anything other than Miltek (i mean i could go a bit more, but Akrapovic and i guess Capristo are a lot more).
But then i hear of booming at midrange with the Miltek :(

So wondering if the Darkside downpipes with std (sports) is a good first step. If i feel i need louder i can move from the std to Miltek or even something bespoke

Its confusing! lol
