My old car is for sale on eBay. It’s a cat S, it unfortunately was spun on the motorway north of 3 figures. Bent legs etc Ebay item number 264676972661 seller selling as HPI clear.

I have the report with pictures from salvage company. Also mileage between collecting from me and salvage auction has dropped by 20,000! I commuted from Devon to North Somerset daily.

Don’t want others getting caught out. Was previously on Reg D8RMK

It’s amazing what people try to achieve by ripping unsuspecting customers off, and this one is big time.
This forum helps to keep us aware off past individuals cars and the good and bad about them.
As in this very instance.
Thanks for sharing D8rmk, top man 👍

How is it HPI clear?!

There is something seriously wrong with the system here in the UK.

Did you report the seller on fleabay?

Because it was on the number plate D8RMk from 6 months old when I Purchased it. It’s now now the current reg, if you do a HPI check it comes up as a cat S under the salvage tab. But to the average punter to comes up as clear.

I have sent all this to the seller who was very rude. Selling it from WMC in Birmingham, I have since got in touch with trading standards, my insurance company and the HPI register to update who have confirmed they are looking in to it.

They have no conscience around that neck of the woods!

That is shocking. Just shows how risky it can be buying a car. Having said anyone with any common sense would realise that car is too cheap and hence "too good to be true"

Very true, especially when the car was bought from a salvage auction with the front end missing! It was driven on to the transporter without any gearbox or engine oil, with all 4 wheels spinning!! Doubt it will last for long
