Evening all.
Does anyone know where the engine code would be on a rs4 b8 engine. 4.2fsi v8 motor. I know there is a paper ticket on top but Is there a machined /etched number on the block/ heads /casings somewhere ? Or is it just the paper Sticker‍♂️?

I had my engine replaced and posed the question about the replacement engine number and updating my documentation. I was told the existing number was kept and the new engine was shipped blank, the mechanic then hand stamped my old number into the new engine. So I can only guess that somewhere on the engine, you can find the engine number. Unfortunately, I didn't ask where.

Why was yours replaced Sam? What model was it a B8?
