I’m sure this has been done by loads of people but I’m having issues with changing mine.

How do you remove the lower panel? I have removed the glass, removed the 2 screws but I can’t get the 2 clips that are visible to release. There is a video on utube but it doesn’t show this bit and I also have directions but once again they don’t show this bit well enough and I don’t want to just snap anything. Took it to a car wrapper today and he failed to get past this part too.

Very frustrating, watched video tons of times, removed all screws but still can’t remove the mirror covers, argggh.

Cant help you, but also watched the video and then thought sod that!
Is it worth going to your local Audi garage to see if they can enlighten you(and not your wallet!)
If you've got that far it might be that you've missed a screw or something.
Go and sweet talk the Audi technician.

I got the screws all out but cover was rock solid. Went to my local Audi paint Shop and they want £170 to spray the mirrors gloss black. Going to go with that, I returned the carbon covers which were £179 so now waiting for dealer to do job.

Would have thought this would have been an easy job!
On the plus side I reckon it'll look better with the mirrors black.

Had the car booked in for the mirror painting, turned up and when the painter saw the job he said he couldn’t do it
He couldn’t guarantee the paint sticking to the covers. Had to take his word for it so still silver

What about vinyl instead of paint? I had mine wrapped to match the wheels...

You need a new painter. The “alloy” pack on the RS is painted!! FFS

JBNRS4:- Went to 2 different Vinyl Wrap guys who both said they wouldn’t wrap because of the groove on the mirrors

Well - these guys in Copenhagen got it perfected, with few “seams” at the side-assist indicator towards the window. But I guess that doesnt help you that much.

With the right prep I would also assume they could be painted...

Finally got the carbon replacements fitted. All down to brute strength and finesse. I was too fearful of breaking things but my mate wasn’t. A couple of plastic tags broken on first one, second came off intact. Definitely an improvement
