3rd Birthday

Coming up to its third birthday which starts the middle age process - MOT, Audi Roadside assistance ending, warranty etc.
My question is the ‘etc’... what else is ending and what can be renewed / extended?
Things i’d like to extend is the warranty and any of the data that comes through such as traffic (if it even ends). I’d also like to get a maps update as mine still has 2015 edition.
Thanks!

Mines coming up to her 3rd birthday in March so will be looking to get extended warranty through Audi. I've just had to have new clutch pack and ATF radiator so the car is definitely susceptible to big issues so extended warranty a must for me. The other items at 3 years (if not already done) would include brake fluid and AC recharge.

Renewing the warranty with Audi direct means you keep roadside assistance, it also guarantees it passes MOT if due to car defects. You can actually get a quote for the extension on the Audi website. It's only available for cars with less than 100k on the clock. Mine is a 2013 and is still under Audi warranty I extended it when I purchased it directly from Audi

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price of the extended warranty through Audi?

Get Audi to carry out the MOT with their MOT Insurance and get the Brake Fluid changed as that will be due. Then get the all parts Warranty with £250 excess payment, I felt no excess was too expensive. Audi roadside assist were doing 2 years for £150 from memory which saved a little over buying just a year at a time. I'd wait another year before getting a map update though, last map update was early 2017 when I looked, they're normally around £250-£300.

I paid £798 with £100 excess with 10k mileage P/A limit for full cover in July last year.. that did not include roadside or MOT cover.

Sounds about right. Mine was no excess and no mileage limit. Think it was something like 996 for the year or something like that

Great. Car is booked in middle of Feb for its first MOT and annual service. Garage are doing the multi-point check as well (looking at the creaking dash too - which is getting worse).
Will get a quote for warranty - I am with you Sam, £250 excess is fine for me.
Map update i’ll hold off for now then.
Anything that will disappear from the high connect gubbins?

I don't have that feature and I'm not even sure that Audi have a plan to deal with the Audi Connect interface. Have a look on the Audi website in your My Audi portal and see when the licence expires, if it's soon. Email customer services asking them to update/renew for another year, as I've read people get it done for free.

Thanks for this - didn't realise about my Audi! My Audi dealer thought you may be able to pay for warranty extension monthly. Been looking at cars and have decided to keep my rs4 for a while - new one doesn't float my boat and rs6 a bit big for country lanes, M3 too small. Only leaves the c63s.

Just checked the cost of renewing my extended warranty on my 2013 and it comes out @ £1648.00 which I thought was quite high, but its still cheaper than a gearbox

Just completed my 5th year Audi extended warranty on my 2014 RS4. It was £680 with £250 excess. Car has 26k miles, so may be why it's less. Last year (first extended) it was £800.
I wasn't sure I'd bother if it had gone up but thinking of selling, so thought it will help it stand out to have Audi warranty until end of Feb 2019.

I'm in the same boat - car is 3 years old end of Feb and 18k miles
Car needs an MOT, brake fluid change and from the My Audi website 'Front final drive: renew gearbox oil' at 20k miles
I have Audi Connect and wrote to them this afternoon. Had an instant reply stating:
'Please reach out to your local authorized Audi dealership and have them request this on your behalf,
Kind regards,
Adrian
Audi Connect Team'
I have been looking at extended warranty quotes; much better that when I had used reg numbers of cars for sale on Autotrader (Audi won't quote much before the 3 year warranty runs out)
Cost ranges from £541.17 for Named Component Cover, £250 Excess and <10k miles PA to £1403.15 for All Component Cover, £0 excess and >15k miles pa. My thinking is All Component Cover <10k miles and £250 Excess that costs £680.05 or 1 x £60.05 and 11 x £60
My previous Audis have had £5k bills at 6 years old, both for gearbox issues and whilst I used an Indy first time round and Audi still jumped up 60% of the bill second time I think the warranty look like good value
The warranty can be cancelled subject to a £25 cost and unpaid months refunded. It CANNOT be transferred to a new owner, and that IMO is poor
Let us know how you get on.......
