Creaking Dash...

Has anyone had the joys of the dash creaking and rattling. For me, it’s occuring in or around the MMI screen area. Is there any easy way to ‘tighten’ it up or is it a garage/warranty job?

I have this. I've had it will all 6 of my B8s. The interior quality is <beep>. They may be able to make it go away partially, or temporarily. It will be back though. <beep>, low grade plastics.
'kin stonking V8 helps drown it out though.

I also have quite a few squeaks and rattles in mine, especially when i am in dynamic mode on lesser roads. Its driving me up the wall and it will be going to the dealer when I get back from holidays to try and fix the one in the back that sounds like a lose socket rolling around in the quarter panel.

Mine is off the garage in 2 weeks - pls let me know how you get on!

Intresting, mine doesn't creak or squeak. But once in a blue moon I hear this almighty crack noise, like a large stone hitting the windscreen at speed. I just put it down to thermal expansion of some kind.

Sounds stupid but if you have tyres overinflated can cause extra rattles and creaks, or if your drc isn’t right as ride is harder!
Creaks behind mmi could be the triangle shaped mesh on top middle of dash. Mine was rattling so I used to bang it to get it to stop until I put my fist through it! Bought a new one (£24 not the £240 the tit at service originally quoted...) and seems to have stopped. Rattles from the back can be the plastic ‘spare wheel’ hub beneath the boot floor not tightened properly and sitting flush and the boot trim on the door where the open/close button is (give the trim a bang when open to see if it rattles). I had the sd card unit making an annoying creak for a while but that seems to have gone too, plus the piano black door trims make a sticky rattle at certain speeds like most new cars do it seems! It generally seems to be road and speed dependant as sometimes it’s completely silent!

had it on both of mine (though the original sepang one was far worse than the noggy!) I stuck a tiny bit of folded paper under the MMI where the soft touch met the carbon fibre, that seemed to solve it...

its looking like I have rear suspension issues with mine, so its going into the stealership tomorrow however its probably pointless as the previous owner installed kwv3's so I am going to assume they will tell me to go jump if the DRC setup is faulty even though its still under factory warranty.
I am thinking along the right lines and if so, what sort of pricing am i looking at to get it repaired should I be forced to pay it?

You won't have any DRC with KW's fitted.

Audi refused to even look at it today, once they realised it had kw's fitted and an after market sub woofer installed in the boot.
awesome service for what was a $180k AUD car when new. NOT.

My rear rattle was the jack in the spare wheel chamber. The nut that screws into the top of the battery had come loose. Simple fix. The dash is going into the dealer to get looked at in February. Will report back

I don't see what your problem with Audi is?
You have a knocking suspension noise from your aftermarket suspension. Talk to the garage that fitted them or KW, don't try wasting Audis time with it.
