I've got one on my new RS6 mate, must have IMO.

The app which I believe is only available on iPhone is a must though, right pain in the arse having to input your code every time you start the car otherwise.

Phone verification is fairly industry standard now and has been used for computer security for a while. To log into my Caterpillar laptop I have to verify a notification on my phone that is paired to my laptop. When I enter the password on the laptop up pops a verification notification on the phone. If I don't accept it on the phone the laptop wont start. On a car my only worry would be phone signal. There are plenty of places in the Uk and when I was recently overseas in northern France where we didn't get a phone signal.

Reading the blurb, it's Bluetooth

You can make the code as short as four digits, and you can repeat buttons, so you could input the code with one hand on one side of the steering wheel etc

Correct phone signal has no bearing on usability

Encrypted communication? :bash: I love it. It's like bitcoin. Who owns the first public traded bitcoins? None knows? Who owns the the code for "the encrypted communication"? Stinks a mile

Stick to just inputting your code. That's what I'd do
