Spare Wheel

Post by Oak » Mon Mar 27, 2017 3:58 pm

Chaps,
Having no faith in the can of tyre sealant, i'm looking at getting some sort of spare wheel.

Not much on ebay for the B8 at the moment, new wheel before tyre is £1109.64 at my local Audi and space savers are banned due to issues with the diff.

So just wondering what everybody else is doing for spares wheels?

Happy to be shot down on this one - but what is different in the RS4 vs S4 in the diffs.

S4s have spacesavers so why can't an RS4?

In part answer to the Diff Question apparently the Rs4 diff is different to the S4.

£7500 for a new one apparently.............

Absolutely no issue using one, just make sure you keep the rolling radius within spec's, and check front brake clearance, or stick it on the rear.

I use a tatty rotor I got off eBay, be careful, there are lot of buckled ones about left over from track days. When searching I visited 3 wheels prior to the one I have and all were bent.

I can confirm the tyre weld is totally useless, after going to Audi to get a new bottle of it after use they told me to never use it as it doesn't work. Also, once used the tyre is no good, cannot be repaired so as soon as you use it, even for a minor puncture a new tyre is required.

Audi parts department sent me to the Sköda dealer were the exact same bottle was £12 cheaper, £37 as opposed to the Audi price of £49 for the exact same part number with all the VWAG logos on it!!!!!!!!!
