Electronic Service History

Due to my less than ideal experience at my usual Audi dealer I am now considering reputable specialists for future work other than maybe inspection servicing.

With Audi now having done away with the traditional service record book and giving us a print out of the electronic service history when we visit the dealer how do other people record service work or otherwise carried out at specialist garages?

I obviously will maintain my full service schedule but wonder how we record this now properly without being able to use the Audi electronic version?

I know some people are using specialists rather than dealers on here, how do you your history?
Do you just keep invoices, I don't want my service history in question when it comes to trade in time.

Cheers

Guess you could buy a duplicate service book, then get that stamped up by the specialist you choose to work on the car.

Any reputable specialist will have the appropriate tools for the job. This includes updating the electronic service log. I may be wrong, but I think the update is done at reset of service light.

I also keep a record of all paperwork just as additional evidence. Will ask the guys at star performance for you and see what their steer is.

You can print a copy of your e-service record off via your My Audi account online along with major servicing milestone requirements such as diff oil changes etc. Perhaps do this and keep service invoices as printed copies for when you come to sell car. That's my plan anyway.

You can download the info via you myaudi account or you pick the right specialist to do the work and they can update the electronic service record, it does cost them to have this access so only the good ones will pay so remember, you get what you pay for.

Cheers for info. I assumed only dealers could update the electronic history as it would be there system.
If good specialists can do it then even better. I'll certainly ask the question.
