Has anyone successfully installed a tow hook and electrical connection to their B8 RS4's ?
I appreciate they're not supposed to be fitted by Audi, but it will be for towing a bike trailer, so not a big weight

I have a tow bar and electics on my RS6, just use a generic A4 towing kit it will fit, you will need to modify the diffuser though (i had too cut it so i have a spare for towing)
As for fitting there isnt many places that will touch it with it being deemed unable to tow... i found a friendly place who fitted a westfelia tow bar and electrics and its been fantastic! i only use if to shift my race car every now and then! tow's fine.

I'm sure someone on here had a tow hook fitted by Audi if I recall correctly.

Yes that was me, I have a toe bar/hook fitted to my B8 RS4. I ordered it with the car as It was a case of no tow bar, no RS4. It took a few months to get sorted back in 2013 as the electrical loom was not available yet and the dealer told me that this was the first B8 RS4 that Audi had fitted with a full tow bar and electrical connection. The rest diffuser does need to be cut but you can't see it unless on a hoist and the bar itself is standard A4 as understand it. I have some

As for towing, it's just fine. I did tie a caravan once for around 100 miles and the fuel consumption was astonishing.

Most likely they will say no... mine did but worth a punt!

Is the tow bar removable or permanent?

Mines detachable!

Yes it can be removed but not easy as the rear diffuser blocks the access to the pin that needs to be removed.

Quick Update :
I spoke with friendly dealer, who said that it would invalidate Warranty, and they couldn't fit it themselves.
However, they gave me a the number of a two bar fitter, who they knew did decent work, and would 'turn a blind eye' in the case of any warranty claims, which I thought was cool
Anyway, spoke with the guy to get it fitted, and he did a bit of research and said that as it wasn't even homologated for that car, that if I had an accident and the tow bar was to be found at fault (or in anyway involved), he would be the one going to court, so it's a no-go
Looks like I'll be on the look out for a new car later this year then, but see you can fit them to the C7 RS6 and it's a rarely taken up factory option
Going to have to keep on with the discomfort of the van for lugging my track bike around until then

Sounds like BS to me. Mine is the genuine Audi part, it was sold as part of the new vehicle package and was fitted by the main dealer. Guess they'd don't want your $, or want an excuse for you to trade the B8 on the C7?

Is yours a uk car ?
