Hi all,

I can see what looks like heating elements on the rear 3/4 Windows just as per the rear screen.
However, on visiting Aviemore this weekend with some sub zero temps I noticed they were not defrosting the windows when I turned on the rear screen heating. Rear works fine.

To be honest I noticed this last winter but never made any enquiries.

Have others experienced theirs working ok? I presume turning on the rear screen heating should activate the side windows too?

I have gave in and even checked the manual and interestingly it doesn't mention the side windows at all with regards heating.

Not a major hassle to be honest and can't really be bothered visiting the dealer for it especially if it ended up needing to replace the glass to fix.

Find it strange that both sides don't work as well. No fuse specifically,for these either, just rear screen.

I'm wondering if they are actually defrost elements and whether it is an optional extra?

Isn't it an aerial?

Think you'll find they're for the alarm system or an antenna. Nothing to do with heating!!

Yes part of the aerial for your tv if you have it spec'ed

Aerial, yeah I guess so but not sure about alarm system?

The extra wires are a glass break detector as the OEM ultrasonic interior monitor doesn't provide good coverage that far back in an Avant.
