30 mpg!

Post by S4WON » Tue Oct 20, 2015 6:58 pm

Did 200 miles today, m25 mostly outside of rush hour but busy and not much spirited driving to speak of,

Was mostly between 65-75 in "auto" and returned 30mpg, I havent seen that figure from any car ive had in the last 10 years!

Not bad for a v8!

I must be driving incorrectly, I don't think I have actually ever got more than 180 out of a full tank

Not sure how much difference it makes but i drive on the radar assisted cruise control 99% on motorways, does all the braking, accelerating, guess its just better at mpg than we are?

Last long run I did on the motorway from the North West to Surrey (including a moderately busy M25) returned 31mpg- pretty good I thought. Mind you I did have my 90 year mother in the car which may have had a calming influence! Motorways are not for an RS4, IMHO - give me a good A road any day. Although setting off from the pay booths on the M6 Toll Road where it's a free for all for about 1/4 mile is a different matter....... :nogarors4:

Everyone knows that if the traffic's doing 60-65 that the only way to drive is in third and constantly drop back and accelerate up behind them to get them out the way
You're an audi driver now, so it's expected of you :)
