No anti-theft bolt key?

Went to my local mechanic today to have some spacers fitted. When we went to retrieve the antitheft bolt from the boot, we discovered it is not there. No tire iron either. There is only a jack, and the compressor and goo for plugging leaks.
I guess I am going to have to go to the dealer and purchase and antitheft key. That seems pretty crazy to me. Surely if they deliver a new car with wheel locks they should give the owner of the key?

I would think an Audi dealership would supply a replacement locking wheel nut key and brace foc, especially as it's a new car. It's not an item you could reasonably be expected to check when you took delivery of it, but I wouldn't mention that you were intending to fit spacers....!
If you are desperate to get the wheels off, then all dealerships have a master set. I have known them to loan the correct master key and they just replace it when the replacement comes in.

Ok thanks. But, did you guys get them with your cars? Because in my car it seems as though it was never intended to be there. I guess because there is no spare...

So its not under the access panel at the back off the boot, inline with the top cover?

Thanks Riv. I am not sure exactly where you mean. But I cannot find the bolt or the tyre lever anywhere or any place where it looks like it should have been.

It will be there, just not where you are looking!! I called Audi assist out to remove a wheel with flat tyre as I was convinced I didn't have a locking wheel nut or tyre brace. Chap found it very amusing!!
Remove the boot floor cover as you would normally. Once removed you will notice that there is still a section of the boot floor left in place (immediately behind the back seats). This section is hinged. You will notice a cut out in the centre of it which you can get your fingers into and open the compartment. Locking wheel nut and tools will be kept in there.

When I swapped for winters last year, the guy at the tyre fitters watched with some amusement as I rummaged in the obvious location in the boot trying desperately to find the key. Once he'd finished his cuppa he calmly wandered over, lifted a hidden flap and showed me where I should have been looking in the first place.
He said that I wasn't the first and wouldn't be the last to make that mistake.

Thanks you guys are legends. I feel pretty stupid. Although, Audi could do a lot better job of explaining it in the manual!

This had me baffled for a while, stuck on the hard shoulder of the m40 with a flat tyre
