MMI Cable

When my iphone 6 is plugged in, in the glove box, it drops out periodically and says 'no device connected'. I have changed the lead but it continues to happen, apparently it's a software issue but whatever it is, it's a pain in the arse. Has anyone experienced the same? Due to be booked in for a check up...
Thanks.

The lead quality is, quite frankly, utter <beep>. They're on a par with the notoriously crap Y-cables BMW/Mini supply. I very much doubt it's software related that's just an easy kop-out for them. Mine sometimes does this, but I only use that lead to charge if I'm desperate, I use BT the rest of the time.

USe BT if you have it. My 160Gb is always connected and never drops out so this shouldn't happen really, not sure about the software but I have to disagree on the quality of the cables , the ones I have supplied with the car from Audi are pretty good.

Mine did this too before it was stolen! Several cables and none worked. I had it checked out at the dealer and its the cables. The connection is weak. Its an afterthought and utterly rubbish. The iphone connection in the B8 is at best a joke and at worst downright dangerous. Best way round this is to get an iphone 4 cable then buy the iphone 4 to 5 adapter. It works. Please Audi put the cable in the centre console next time like everyone else.

Strange, I never had any bother I n the RS3/4/C6/A1. All had connections in the glove box.
Not sure it could ever be dangerous....

Same here, my 2015MY works perfectly with my old 5s and new 6 both BT and cable connection.
I agree though, Audi will hopefully create a proper centerconsole/armrest storage with not just a 12V socket but the USB connector both in the glove box and in the centre.
