Exhaust.... Part 2 - Have you got one?

Post by boff » Mon Jul 13, 2015 3:59 pm

Hi All

I've had a weekend away; the car's at Jack Barclays and I've just managed to catch up - GREAT debate.

As I've just said at the end of the last post; I've spoken to a few guys mentioned (JC) - and they wanted to get an idea of the market potential.... So I thought - time for another quick poll.

Could all the B8 Owners & Owners coming along do me a quick favour and answer the attached poll - Have you got one!!! And if you haven't will you get one? And then just stick in here what held you back?

Awesome

I'd love an Akrapovic but too dear. Watching the JC Weldfab thread with eager anticipation though.

The warranty issues put me off initially , cars 11 month old ! An nearly bought a milly ! Had one on my B7 .
But curiosity and greed taking over now ! Can't part on a milly because the fact I haven't heard any the other contenders means if I did an they better sounding I would feel short changed ! Enquirer about capristo at wk end , not much more than a milly the akra I'm struggling to justify and the jc I'm awaiting baited breath I.e price and opinion on B8 ,
So it's def gonna happen , unlikely I will hear any of these on a B8 in my area , so easier to weigh up opinion

Just to tease you further... Mine is confirmed booked in for prototyping on the 20th.

Regarding the tips, the standard tips are one thing the guys at JCWF said they really didn't like - the way it's just a back box with holes in the bumper you can see straight through. They like the look of the Akra and the way it comes through the bumper, so will do something to tidy that area up. I'm not sure what exactly yet - that part is up to them :)

Exhaust change doesn't affect warranty (other wise I'd not be doing it on a month old car obviously!)

Expect full B8 systems to be available from JCWeldFab shortly :)

Very popular with BMW's. Especially six and ten cylinder cars (have a look on YouTube at the M5/6 's with them fitted  )

I believe they do some work for AMG and Porsche OE too.

They phoned me today yes - to confirm a few details and agree dates when they can have my car (as they want it 3 weeks it needs some planning!).

Eisenmann very popular with BMW.

It is correct that some AMG models and certain Porsche models have eisenmann as standard.

There are a few R8's with them fitted.
