Broke out the polish 2

After seeing a few threads recently re wax etc, I decided to get my arse into gear and give the RS its first polish since picking up in Jan. A cutting of Super Resin Polish to remove minor swirling, then finished with a coating of the ArmoraAll Shield wax that milesg recommended.

I must admit the AAS was hard to use on top of the SRP, but a second buffing sorted the minor streaking. Next time I think I'll wait a few days before putting the AAS on top, so the SRP has time to harden.

I'm pleased with the results, especially as I wanted to try and get the orange to pop from the Misano. A few more coats and I think it'll be good to go...

Looks great !

the SRP won't harden...I've never found it a problem putting on the armorall over SRP

take it you were using brand new micro fibres ?

Thanks. It took some work, and it still needs a few more coats to build it up properly, but all in all its starting to look as I hoped. :thumb:

Yup, got a new lot of towels to do the RS with, as well as a new bottle of SRP and AAS which both came with new applicators and their own cloths.

I thought it might have been because I was using too much AAS, but even with a small amount it did the same. I think it might be because the SRP hadn't quite 'gone off', but I did leave it 15-20mins before applying. It's as if the AAS had nowhere to go, and was simply lying on top of the SRP needing to go off.

Not sure if you're fishing, but I'll reply anyway. Misano Red changes colour due to the pearl in it, so on a sunny day it looks orangey and on a dull overcast day it's looks very red.

The deeper the polish/wax shine you can get, the more orange 'pop' you get.

Exactly - the best orange pop I've seen is under the direct lights at Audi City, on that Missano one that my iPhone badly photo'd... It is definitely popping out the orange!!! (Looked wicked - my mission RS6 Never did that!)

The best orange popped Misano car I've seen is this TTRS pic, I'm really hoping mine will pop this way when the sun comes out properly for summer...
