Looking to buy, new, nearly new...

Hi all. I know the order books are closed but anyone know if it's still possible to pick up a new car? I assume there's a few around the dealer network? Any ideas what kind if discount I could expect on one of these cars? I know it was possible to get 7-8k off list just before the books shut but some prices on the audi used locator are still 60k+ for a used car. Wanting something around the 50k mark if possible.

Thanks, what kind of discount off list would you expect at this time?

I don't think 50k will get you a new car. That's going to be lightly used.

I dont have a clue buddy, margin as new is over 12% you'll have to speak to the folks at the dealers

I bet prices will start to drop soon....dealers are trying to keep value up by the fact you can't factory order anymore. That will wear thin when they can't shift cars and then they'll drop their pants.

Yeah i reckon you're right, theres about 30 ltd edition cars coming over the next 8 weeks. There's also a lot of non ltd stock new about. I think when the ltds hit the shores, any no ltd stock will be up for a deal, and then if there's any ltd left they'll take a hit too. Cars dont make you money though....

Did exactly this last week. Some dealers are saying stock is drying up therefore the discounts that people like Orange wheels claim are not achievable...
I had timing on my side as it was the last week of the financial year not sure how desperate the dealers will be to shift cars now we are into a new period.
As you can not order a car you will be left with some options that you won't want and the dealers will still include these at the list price to start negotiations, I was lucky to find a car almost 100% the spec I would have chosen.

To get a better discount you will need to look at the finance as well as there are some offers of £2k Audi finance and £2k dealer contribution before you start on getting the discount on the car. You can do this and settle the finance straight away I believe there are posts on this.

I think you would do REALLY well to get a car at £50K as I would guess that most available cars will have a minimum list of about £62K+ including options.

But if you don't ask you don't get and good luck.

Been looking at used ones...

I'm guessing there was never a facelift of the B8? so is there any major differences between years? did they just change the options year to year? Seems to be a few cars around with low milage for decent price that are 63 plates.

Seeing quite a lot of cars with alcantara seats, how do they wear? Seen a few with alcantara steering wheel, was this an option? Also, is the camera in the right front intake for ACC?

And cars specc'd with dynamic steering, can it be turned off? What are the must have options.

Hiya hvm - yes there was a my14 update which included loads of stuff, search the forum.

Alcantara has always worn well on the seats not the steering wheels.

Must haves for me:

Sports pack
Roof
Audi connect
Adaptive cruise (yep thats the camera)
Tech pack advanced
Heated seats

The earlier cars have 6.5" satnav, and the later cars have a full 7" :-)
