I have had enough of the squeaky brakes when on light braking so its time for a bit of copaslip application to the back of the pads

Can anyone advise on the jacking points and i have looked at the sills where the scissor jack goes in the past and that doesn't look sturdy enough to put the trolley jack on

I cant be bothered taking it back to Audi , easier to do myself

Anybody know for sure where to jack at

Squealing brakes on early RS4's was a known problem, and was completely replaced under warranty on my first B8 (pads, discs, callipers and carriers)
The cure is for the revised items to have a balancer weight and, I believe, a different composition of disc/pad material
Worth hassling the dealer for as you might get a full new set

or look under the side skirts and you will see a recess for the jacking points.

Just make sure you get the jack inline with the sill and you may bend it and keep a wheel under the car at all times just incase

Might car is brand new out of the box, only done 1800miles

My previous was an avant , but i didn't like using the sill join, doesn't look sufficient to hold weight and not collapse the sill when using the trolley jack.

need to suss the points where the 4 poster ramps rest during lifting

The door sill joins are designed to be used with jacks that have a slot cut out (like most scissor jacks). This gives them something to lock into and reduce change of them slipping out of place. The actual weight of the car is transferred through the main sill and not the join.
For a trolley jack, definitely look behind the wheels for the locating points. Worth making sure the saddle of the trolley jack is a reasonable it for the jacking points.

If you don't have a spare wheel to use for safety, I can recommend a big box of A4 paper like what you get from staples.

They should lube it when it leaves the factory. So it shouldnt' squeak
Can't be bothered wasting a day at the dealers
My job is mechanical (oil) so not a hard job, just didn't want to damage my sills and though i would use the power of the web to identify the points rather than lying on the garage floor.

+1 - why do something yourself when the dealer is supposed to be looking after you & the car they supplied you? That's what you've paid for, isn't it?

Lube now applied, but about 90% better, so now booked in for Feb when i am home next

Meant to add, was an easy job, front calipers, really easy, well designed, made a adaptor for the trolley jack to fit over the sill weld, but need to make it out of nylon as a permanent mod for the trolley jack

I just received my new RS4 and I have squeaky brakes. Thought I would let them bed in but to no avail. Been back to Aberdeen Audi where they cleaned the brakes but still have the problem. They also re pressured the DRC as there was a clunk. Clunk still there. Have I bought a dud car? How should I proceed? I love the car but these niggles bother me somewhat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Immediately request a replacement car, email senior bods at audi. If you're not happy make no allowances, you've just spent your own hard earned cash on that car
