Bit of a boring one, but is the fuel tank smaller than the tank in the B7 rs4?
I don't seem to get as much in as i did in the old one, and seem to be using it up too quickly with the car in S mode
Cheers, Peter

It'll take a long time to properly bed in - How many miles you got?

Whoa! Hardly surprising then! It'll take at least 10 times that before everything is really polished and settled in.
I wouldn't worry too much at the moment.

The most I've put in is 58 litres....I'd guess it's a 62 litre tank.
I've had 160 miles min. and 270 max. on a tank

It is a shame that the car doesn't have a bigger tank. I have been filling when the light comes on fill ups have been circa £70.
I am on the look out for a suitably shaped flat spare fuel can that I can keep under the boot floor for emergencies.

Thats sorta of why i asked, most i got in was £66 with 35miles on the DIS, where the old RS4 i could easily get near £80.
It does seem to be more fuel efficient though,
with a run back from collecting the car it returned 30mpg (Taking it easy cause it was new).

Don't the new ones turn off 4 cylinders until you boot it to "save" fuel?

Fuel tank = 61litres
Had mine for 15weeks - from brand new. Just ticked over 15,000kms
Average fuel consumption over the 15,000kms = 11.3l/100km
Best I've had for a 600km trip was 8.6l/100km or 33mpg in old money - sensational - but it was also heading from mountains down to sea level so lots of downhill runs ...
general around town, going to work etc about 12.5 l/100km
General going for a long trip of around 320kms at relaxed speed = 9.0 to 9.5l/100km (done these a few times to see how well it will do)
Pushing it on a mountain run = 16.6l/100km including some easing in at around 12l/100km so just the quick bit (about 100kms at "nearly appraoching the speed limit your honour" over hills and windy bits - yee haa) was probably around 20l/100km
Haven't noticed any real difference between brand new when everythings tight and now, but do notice a big difference if you actually use the accelerator (well naturally!!!) at which time it can add dramatically, but I guess that's why we buy them.
That help ???
