Hi,
Had the car for 4 weeks now - been playing with the active cruise during commuting to work . It's only seems to be going up and down in segments of 5mpg - any words of wisdom on how to get 1 mph at a time?
Im at have to result in opening the manual which will be a last resort...
Thanks
Tim

I don't think you can - you have to manually adjust to the speed you want then press the button on the end of the stalk so that it holds there.
With the "normal" cruise on my old car I was forever adjusting up/down a couple of mph to match the vehicle in front but it's not an issue with ACC because the radar does all that.

It only lets you adjust by 5mph at a time above 40mph, and 2.5mph at a time below 40. Hope that helps.

Thanks - just a pain when you have a clear road on a long journey with speed cameras!!

Will the brake guard bring the car to a complete stop if the traffic in front grinds to a halt or does it only work at a minimum speed?

It will stop the car if the traffic stops. But if the traffic flow drops to a creep below 15mph (I think) the adaptive de activates and says speed to low on the dash and you have to it with your feet.

Have a read -

I also found that when there is excessive spray on the motorway the ACC sensor get confused. I was behind a car on the M$ in torrential rain and at a constant speed with ACC active and the car suddenly decided to accelerate which was quite disconcerting.

That's a worry, though I haven't heard of anyone else making the same complaint, maybe you should get it checked out?
I guess with all these driver aids you have to have your wits about you, though my car has side assist (when it comes) I will still probably glance sideways to double check!!

I have found that side-assist is slightly prone to "false positives" rather than missing things which really are there. Or more like it is tuned in a way that isn't realistic for driving in London traffic.

If you read the URL I posted it actually says that in needs reflective surface to function. I guess the spray confused it. I've had brake assist kick in a couple of times when people have slowed turn left/right at junction. Certainly re-focusses the mind.

I wonder if you were involved in a collision and told your insurance co. that you were relying on one of these aids that hadn't performed correctly how you would stand.

On the basis that ultimately you're the driver, I think you'd be fooked.

Yeah I thought as much lol!
Did you think any more about the new rotors I've got? I up for taking an offer on them

Apologies, I should have advised. I'm waiting for a client to settle a big ticket - should have been last week. If they go they go, but I'm hoping I will have it sorted next week. When I do I'll be in contact.
