This is an issue that has been going for 5 months after discovering it when using Launch Conrol.
Traction is fully OFF, launching at maximum RPM allowed by the ecu. Once the tires loose grip, then changing manually to 2nd gear just before redline, the transmission automatically downshifts to 1st ( without it blipping, so you can imagine how aggressively it'll go into 1st ) then goes back to 2nd, automatically. This only happens when the tires loose grip ( also a different issue has popped that i will explain below when it looses grip in a different scenario ).
After this issue, i launched it again ( not in the same day ) to see if its going to happen, and it did.
Took the car in a few times for a transmission reset. It never fixed the issue, yes, i launched after the reset was made every time to check.
The other issue regarding ''loosing grip'' is, when i get into a corner fast and aggressively it will downshift automatically when im in manual mode, it mostly happens when i'm in 3rd gear coming in to a.. lets say a roundabout, once it slightly oversteers it will automatically downshift to 2nd, hit the redline then automatically to 3rd gear while im on manual mode. It's frustrating because i can't enjoy the car to the max and i wont be able to try it out at the track with this issue!
So the obvious question, anyone with this issue?

Re: An Issue When using LC
That's a new one on me
Definitely not right. ECU software should record the changes and be able to show error
Many years ago, I had a mk5 golf gti with the first DSG boxes, and I did read about sone of them having similar issues. If memory serves correctly, it required an ECU change
Also, launch control shouldn't allow you to launch from max revs, it should hold revs at circa 4-5000 before it dumps the clutch

Re: An Issue When using LC
I think he means "max revs allowed by the ecu"... So I take is as 4000-5000 rpm as limited by the ecu.
But yes I had to read it a couple times!
