No delivery date :(

Hi All,

I placed an order for an RS4 to my spec in late July, I was told at the time that I would be getting a fairly quick build as I was being given a "slot" the dealer had in progress already and should receive the car in October.

Well, October is here and I am of course keen to get an exact date from the dealer, however despite repeatedly asking I'm not getting a date from them (just "late October")

For anyone that has been through this process, at what point did you get a delivery date?

I see some people have been able to track their cars build, what information did you get from the dealer?

I am almost reaching the point of bypassing the sales person and talking to the dealership manager or Audi direct as the lack of date & information certainly doesn't feel like the "RS buying experience".

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

That doesn't sound right, although Audi have been messing about with build dates for the lat few weeks. My build date has moved 3 times on an order placed in August, from October to Jan then back to November. In the end I told them to leave it as Jan because I'd made arrangements for the disposal of my current daily. I would start smacking bottoms if I were you.

"Still looking like the end of October.

We don't get fixed dates as there are to many elements that can effect the delivery date.
Shipping, Trains and transport in the UK.
As soon as the car lands in the UK then we know it will be a max of 7 days, and then we get a delivery notification the day before it arrives."

Does that sound correct or are they going to mess me about?

Its quite frustrating as, like above I need to make plans for the current car etc.

they will most certainly have an allocated and scheduled build number if it really is due for October delivery.
