Bought an S4 earlier in the year. Should have gone for an rs4. The s4 is stonking but it's the poor relation.

I have been offered the 10% and 2k deal which I will probably go for - I can take over a delivery arriving in three weeks.

I've taken a test drive in one with the sports pack but I'm not convinced by DRC and the associated horror stories. Any thoughts on non-DRC cars? Are they better resolved?

Hi, spec is:

Pather black
Fine Nappa Leather
Red Brake Callipers
Advanced Key
20” V-Spoke Polished Alloys
Electric Front Seats with Memory
Matt Aluminium Styling Pack
Privacy Glass
Sports Package
Panoramic Sunroof
Heated Front Seats
Rear Side Airbags
Electric folding and dimming mirrors
Audi Parking Advanced
Bang and Olufsen Sound System
Bluetooth High with Audi Connect

May possibly trade in the S4....it will hurt no doubt but not convinced I need the hassle of private sale.

15k largely motorway miles.

To be honest I've never looked at mpg other than to confirm that it's 20 something.

I've driven both DRC and non DRC cars quite a lot (my B8 shaped car's have both have DRC, as will my next one)
I'd say that the NonDRC car is very similar to the DRC car in comfort setting. I, personally, didn't notice a measurable increase in roll.
Only differences I've found really noticeable in the way the car handles in various spec's is that it rides a lot better on the 19's over the , better looking IMHO, 20's, and ceramics reduce the unsprung weight enough to notice the car tracking better over bumps and sudden camber/surface changes

(s4 b8) I average about 26 mpg on motorways and from 15-20 for spirited backroad runs.

B8 S4 is a great car and a fantastic package. The stronic is awesome, my wife loves it.

B8 s4 vs B8 rs4 is a no brainer, but its double the cost
B8 s4 vs B7 s4. For me,as a daily the s4 wins, as a weekend/experience the rs4 is miles ahead

This thread has confirmed my fears:

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=109653

I recall another thread where a stealer fiddled around for ages until they worked out that the system hadn't been properly pressurised. Any experience here from owners who have had the drc knocking issue successfully resolved?

I realise that there's probably a happy, silent majority of drc owners who haven't had to visit the knocking Shop (so to speak), but I'd like to find out if there's a known fix for this before committing myself.

That's an unfortunate, unintended url - not implying the rs246 Shop is anything other than a totally upstanding institution.
