Annoying noises!

Well the car has done under 2 k miles and us booking to go to Audi tomorrow to have two issues looked at:

Knocking front offside suspension, used to do it when cold only but now is pretty constant and getting worse. This issue is well documented and I have little hope of this being fixed. I hope I am proved wrong.

The second is a sort of fluttering noise that is coming from the same corner and is related to the brakes. It's worse when the wheel is slightly off centre particularly when turned to the left. Noise goes when the brake is applied. Can anybody shed light on this?

No ceramics...

I had a similar noise on my old b7. I got it up on the ramps and checked behind the brakes and it turned out I'd picked up a length of metal cable that had wrapped itself around the calliper and was dragging on the vanes of the inner disk. Used to annoy the <beep> out of me

If thats what you've been given as a loaner, I'd make it clear to both your dealer & Audi CS that spending £60k+ on a car for it to be replaced by a soot chucking loan car isn't your idea of a premium product experience. How long has the car been off the road? And have they given you any time frame for the works to be completed yet?

I would make it crystal clear that any loaner should be close to the product purchased, especially if its going to be longer than a few days. If the car supplied is that bad then it's clearly not fit for use & should be handled accordingly.

I was supposed to get a call today confirming how long they would need the car - I received no call.
I am peeved at the loan car, especially as it was given to me with the fuel light on. I am sort of resigned to the fact that once you have bought the car they don't really give a <beep>, I have complained about his in the past but get nowhere. It's a smallish dealer, if it was larger then I guess they have a greater pool of cars to provide?

The guy you want is Craig.westwood@audi.co.uk
Drop him a mail as he's head of customer services and insist to him that you get a suitable loaner for what's now an indefinite time period
The dealer service department will only have crap loaners and the sales guys there won't want their premium demos tied up, so Audi uk are your only chance for a premium car. They have a 'mobilisation team' who should source you a decent car

Dear Craig

I understand you are part of Audi's customer service team. I bought a new B8 RS4 on the 3rd March this year.

A few days after the purchase, I noticed a knocking noise from the front offside suspension. As the noise was getting worse, I took the car to my local dealer in Macclesfield.
I drove the car along with an Audi technician and he noted the noise from the suspension.
I collected the car this afternoon and I was told that nothing could actually be found wrong with the car, I quote from the report shown to me ".....from previous experience that the DRC system can be noisy, this is deemed normal."
I was handed the keys and drove away from the dealers, car still knocking.

I would like to know how Audi can justify selling a £60,000 car with known faults without informing the customer before the purchase. I find this quite astonishing.

When investigate this issue further, then I expect a courtesy car of a similar standard to my car, NOT the 2.0 Tdi that I was provided with on this occasion.

This is the second, new vehicle I have purchased from Audi Macclesfield and I genuinely feel that the after sales and servicing provided has been appalling.

For reference:
This car has done 1950 miles, original reg MK14 XXX, current reg XXXXX and the other vehicle mentioned (which I still own) is reg MK11 XXX

Please provide me with a response to the complaint including your proposal on how you will rectify the issue.

Hi all, :bigwave:

New to the forum having just picked up a shiny new Prism Silver RS4 from Cambridge Audi on Friday (5th).

I have already identified said 'knock', primarily when cold and debating to call the dealer and have it booked in or leave it for now.

Just wondered if there was any reply from Audi on this so I can be very specific when I call the dealer up and ask them to look at it.

Thanks!

Sorry to here you having troubles with your car mate..personally i would be having a field day complaining if it was me.they would probably give me a new car when i was finished lol.i love anything like that haha..if theres another audi garage near to where you live take it there and get them to bill the garage you bought it from becsuse they havent got a clue!! Lay it on thick mate and dont take no crap!!! If they knew there was a problem when you bought it ..it didnt bother them one bit when you were handing over your hard earned cash!!another option is walk in hand keys to manager and say i want another car or my cash back or i will take it further...good luck mate

Once you have something in writing they have to do something about it. After the mail they could not have done enough to help me and replaced the shock. Interestingly, they refused to respond to my mail in writing, they would only deal with me face to face or on the phone.

Hi
I bought my Audi RS4 from Cambridge as well. Interested in mirror caps, how much do you want for them?

Still on this topic....anyone have any suggestions / contacts / recommendations on the best dealer to go to in the Hertfordshire area?

Cambridge Audi (where the car came from) is about an hour away for me, but Watford and Hatfield Audi are only about 20/30mins. Don't want to book it in and have the 'they all do that' fob off and Cambridge have said they will have it for a few days....but if there is anywhere recommended more locally that would be great!
