Driver door rattle

Had the car for over 2 months now and have noticed a rattle at the drivers window seal area that comes and goes. Anyone else had this issue? Took it to dealer for test drive and as expected, it didn't rattle! He told me to keep a record over next few days and bring it back.

i had a rattle in the door colum where seat belt is they found some of the insulation had slipped and cables were rattling ok now though

Yes, I have a 'creaking/rubbing' sound coming from the top of the drivers window frame which is worse in wet weather, happens when I go over a couple of grids etc generally

Mine has been into the dealer once already and they sprayed the seal with Crytox (??) which relieved it for a while, but after a couple of weeks it came back. I have dropped it at the dealer this morning for them to try again.

mine does this also,think its the rubber door seals squeeking,bloody annoying along with the drc knocking,these b8's deff dont have the same build quality as the b7 had that felt more hand crafted rather than production line built,still will put up with it as a trip to the dealers is toooooo painfull for me,roll on march as i think i'm going to go look at a F type jag coupe

Mine does the same. The dealer told me it was a common fault on black optics style A4's. They sprayed the seals with something and it goes away for a while until I get it back in and they do it again
I'm going to try silicon-ing the seals myself next time and see if that helps

A good silicon spray usually helps with most of the squeaks

Got it back today, DRC re-gassed, dashboard re-fitted, door "siliconed", air vents tightened.

Now I have the quietest RS4 in England (I hope).

Fast forward Feb to Dec. s
Started noticing this problem (same Drive side Door / B-Pillar rattle noise symptom) this weekend, albeit while driving on bumpy frozen snow. After trying to listen closely, driving (slow) with window up, then down, thought - prior to reading this thread - that it was something rattling (not squeaking or buzzing) against the Door window, though not certain.

Just a query at this point, but any other forum member experience similar 'since last Feb' posts?
Any further feedback to B8 owners?
(Thinking at this point that only option is yo bring back to Dealer).

Only had my 2013 RS4 a few weeks but it has the drivers door rattle / seal movement when hitting bumps. Also knocks from the front shocks, more pronounced just after starting the car (DRC normal?). The shocks I can put up with but the door I cannot. I've cleaned the seals and tried some lubricant and it seems to work to dampen it a little. If I cannot get rid of it then it will be back to the dealer for adjustment. Having said the above, just about every car I've had has given me grief with noises and that includes a couple of 911's. I guess it annoys some folk more than others.

The dealer replaced the door seals on mine earlier in the year, which cured it for a few weeks, then it returned. Apparently Audi still haven't supplied a permanent fix, mine is in for the airbag software recall tomorrow, I have asked that they apply Crytox again, which makes it better for a few weeks, but will push for an update on the permament solution while I am in there

My dealer checked today and found there has been a permanent solution posted by Audi, application of something called Berulub MD Spray to a specified area of the door frame should solve the problem. Mine was done this morning, will check it over the next couple of weeks.

There was also a production change from 15/07/2013 with modified paint being used to stop the problem on cars built.

^^^^ Thx for feedback and prior member responses. ‘permanent solution posted by Audi ..... (and ) ....a specified area of the door frame’ - is there any chance you can get some clarification on what area that is i.e. B-Pillar area, the window Run-channel, other? [It did seem my case as more a rattle i.e. vibration issue than a rubbing issue that a spray might fix, but we’ll see hopefully ....]

Xmas Season is here so need to wait post-New Year, so as to have Techs review the issue.
That said, the above input is much appreciated (all replies).
