Knocking suspension when cold

So my car is only 3 weeks old but when it is cold the suspension knocks quite a bit when I hit a bump when cold.
It seems to stop when the car is up to temp. Is this a charecter trait or something wrong with the car?

Sure I've read somewhere on the b8 cars it's considered normal.

Mine also does this too, cant decide if its a problem yet but its bloody annoying sounds more like the damper topping out than a worn component, unfortunately i think i might put up with it rather than have to go back to the dealer

Yup, damper hitting is exactly what it sounds like. Thanks guys, reassuring.

Mine doesn't either (although I fear I may tempt fate by stating that)
The silver early b8 that Dean ran for Evo suffered from horrendous knock and he was told by the dealer that it's regrettable, but normal...

this is why i dont want to go to the dealers because if they tell me this i will explode as my B7 had no noises and the B8 is supposed to be an improved version of the drc,i have a feeling its more to do with the crashy ride the 20" wheels are giving or the drc needs to settle down a bit and sag as it sounds like the damper tops out when you drop into a hole as the noise is on the extension/rebound stroke not the compresion stroke (on mine anyway)

quite possible..
Just as some feedback on the std 19's on non drc, the ride is (imo) superb and smooth . It is true I would probably like a button to press to turn the car into a solid roller skate but I think i only ever used the Porsche version on my S about 3 or 4 times ! - maybe I am getting old!.

There is a service bulletin on this issue--clunk noise was from front right mainly--they downloaded an update to DRC pressures and fixed it.

Hmm, just spoke to Audi and they have no service bulletin logged against my VIN. Have it booked in for mid Jan so we will see what they have logged by then.

The Audi TPI used to repair the B8 RS4 was TPI 2033403/1

My car went to Hull Audi today and they have come back with a possible DRC fluid level problem, they are re charging it in the next few weeks
I will let you all know if it solves the knocking
