RS4 Retail Finance offer…..

Post by n5tews » Wed Oct 30, 2013 9:59 pm

So Guys

Not wanting to devalue the produce BUT……….

From what I can gleam i that of the £7k, 5k of that comes from Audi UK and the other 2K from dealer margin - which still leaves a significant margin to be negotiated from the 14% available.

So - what kind of deals are being achieved? I can see when the new M3/4 turns up next year we will be back where we were in 2006/7 when it was the M3 vs RS4 debate and so on. I went BMW then but things have moved on….

3 kids and my desire to know I won't get stuck trying to get on my drive in a RWD German brand, the RS4 is the obvious choice. However £££ will be the key to the deal.

Thoughts

It's a standard deal from Audi.

I got quoted:

£5600 deposit from me
£7000 from Audi
10k miles
£749 x 48 payments
Rep APR is 6.1% which about as low as you'll get anywhere.

(Based on a £62k spec. car.)

it's a pretty fair deal and I think I'll place an order by 31st December as that's the current end date of the deal.

mine is about 28k (guaranteed residual).
I rarely(never!) keep cars longer than 3 years anyway so it works a treat having a high residual for me.

Were you asked for a £6k deposit? I don't want Audi having my money for upto 5 months.

I havent placed any deposit at all. It is my local dealer who know me well and this will be my tenth audi from them! - the deposit value is down to the dealership - you shouldnt be asked for more than 500 as they cant keep it anyway regardless.

nothing is 'free'

749 a month on an avant, you need therapy

How do you know definitively that they can't keep your deposit?

I've had two dealers ask for 10%, which there isn't a chance there getting!

Their explanation was it's a "bespoke" car. I think they are probably worried after a while buyers may back out and they've just placed a speculative order to secure the £7k discount and then go and buy elsewhere.

The dealer will make you sign if part or all if the deposit is non-refundable.

If you order bizarre colour or fully loaded expect to be asked for a deposit, maybe 10%. If it's something they know they will shift on regardless they will be less bothered about a deposit.

I know there have been issues with customers ordering and walking away with the RS4, so I'm not surprised. Especially so where there is no previous history with the dealer or brand.

Generally speaking it isn't in the dealer's interests to hold a deposit, bad for reputation and business.
