Can anyone tell me if a genuine Audi towbar and wiring loom is available for the B8 RS4. I ordered and paid for one approx 2 months ago when I took delivery of my new RS4 as I need to do some light duty towing but my dealer has been unable to supply and I am wondering if there is a problem (ie not available for some reason)

Any thoughts appreciated.

I didn't think towbars were compatible with RS models although that could just be the older ones

I asked my dealer when I bought mine and was told that they're not approved for the RS4, but will be available for C7 RS6

Indeed, can be had on the RS6, but I don't think you can have DRC as well.

I happen to have the brochure within arms reach....aside from DRC you also cannot combine tow bar with carbon optics. Go figure.

Audi have always claimed that there isn't enough engine cooling for towing - which doesn't make a lot of sense as it's not as if it needs more power to tow at 70mph than it does to do 155mph solo???

I reckon it's just because they didn't want to spend the money homologating them for towing.

Exactly, and if you have an accident towing by using a DIY tow bar system on a non-homologated car you will be in big trouble and will be liable by your insurance company.

Update: I have just spoken to my dealer and am booked in for
The genuine Audi towbar and wiring to be fitted tomorrow. Apparently it has now been homoglated and is available for sale. I will post some pics when fitted.
