You obviously don't buy enough Audi's to be considered worthy of the RS4.
2014: 8V S3, Scirocco (mistake)
2013: B8 RS 5, 3.0T S5 coupe, B8 S5 cab - temp, B8 S4 avant
2011: 2.0T FL Octavia VRS
2010: 1.8T Octavia VRS

C7 RS6. Don't bother with RS4. It's nice, but it requires thrashing.

I like its looks...BUT...this engine has lived it's life and should have been retired with the B7 RS4?

Why they didn't turbo it is beyond me? 4.0 turbo tuned to 450 would have been great.

Just my ten pence worth.

Or perhaps because you will give an honest appraisal of a brand new model on a public forum DK ? Agree totally with all the other comments!

Interesting interview with that Stephan Reil geyser from Audi GMBH in February's Car magazine too?

He says they fitted the B7 test mule with a 3.0 litre V6 twin turbo and the V8.... But decided on the V8!!!!

Numpties!!!

TBF, if you were tooling around in a test mule, which one would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The V8 baby, the V8. Tell me I'm wrong.
No matter where you go, there you are.

You are right why do you think the c7 rs6 has gone back to v8? ........................cos a v8 is the best :bigblink:

Exactly. Whilst I too would have liked the 4.0TT, te current engine does tick all the emotional boxes.
Sure not the quickest but defiantly the best feeling.

RS4 competition equals

c63, a naturally aspirated v8 making 450 hp
M3, a naturally aspirated v8 making 414 hp

Why do they need a v8 twin turbo again?

Never mind the fact the new motor
A) doesn't fit in the 8K chassis
B) is way too hot for the super tight space if you were to stuff it in
C) do you want to make the RS6/rs7 redundant by putting its motor in the rs4?

If audi competitors for the rs4 put a twin turbo v8 in their car, audi may then do something. Until then why would they?

Next m3 is a force fed v6. Next c amg is unknown. Further audi doesn't give a flying fk how tunable the car is. They're not putting a turbocharged xxx in a car for the 0.4% of firstf buyers who give a toss about tuning... and this is further evidenced because for the ones who DO tune new cars while in warranty, they have created the td 1 program to catch you and void power train warrantys.

I agree it's odd to have such a similar engine again vs b7 but does everyone forget

New car is much bigger
New car makes 30 more hp
New car has the amazing dsg transmission
New car has launch control
New car whips the <beep> out of the old car

Even as a B7 RS4 owner, I am very confused why everyone moans about this... The new car is fantastic.
