Passed this onto our techs and they had a similar thought to myself....

You really need to measure from a fixed point of say wheel lip to arch such as you will all have different tyre makes, tread depth on tyres and differing pressures also.

Not everyone pressure gauge will be spot on either so you may need a recount if youre building evidence..

That's a very good point Glenn and one I hadn't really considered, until you asked about where we were measuring from. I think once we've got an agreeable format of measurement then it'd be better to start off a new thread. I wanted to check out if the ADS modes changed the ride height at all (don't think it will) but my car has been in the dealership for the last 10 days?

I can't believe that almost 15 years after the first DRC failures started to appear on the RS6 C5 nothing seems to have improved. 15 years!

Regarding standardised reference points, wheel centre to arch would be independent of tyre make/wear, wheel diameter etc.

Does anyone have any figures from Audi for acceptable variation in ride height?

I had my dampers replaced last week due to the DRC noise and got my car back with the following ride heights:

Front NS: 699mm
Front OS: 692mm
Rear NS: 686mm
Rear OS: 673mm

I also heard a loud metallic bang from the front OS when I was pulling left out of a downhill junction (front OS more highly loaded). I've only once heard a similar noise before and that was when a rear spring snapped on a previous Leon.
