Heads Up - Tyres
Re: Heads Up - Tyres
I THINK - they maybe very nervy tyres, i just can't tell where the grip is - however, they don't tramline like they did on my 911....

Re: Heads Up - Tyres
No experience of that particular tyre, but a tyre fitter friend of mine has said that Dunlops can develop cracks along the length of the main grooves of the tyre, and I have seen this on several vehicles with Dunlops fitted including my wife's.
Michelins for me when the time comes on the RS, although I have Goodyear Asseymetric F1's on my daily and rate them.

Re: Heads Up - Tyres
I've got Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on mine. Pretty good all rounders and seem to wear well but very sensitive to setting pressures how I like them for optimum traction. Most likely change to Michelin PS next time around though as have had them on other motors before and really impressed.

Re: Heads Up - Tyres
That was the last set of tyres I had on mine. They we ok in the dry (not brilliant, just ok), but we very poor in the wet. Much better than contis or pirellis but not in the same league as the goodyears.RS_Four wrote:I've got Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on mine. Re: Heads Up - Tyres
ditto. I had the b7 and the c6 on crap tyres (dunlops on the c6 and f1's on the b7) both round the ring for several laps. On the next visits I'd fitted PSS's and frankly, nothing comes close in confidence and grip.SuprSi wrote:After extensive testing at the nurburgring, I think I speak for toyneg and myself that the Pilot super sports are f'king awesome!
IMO, there's no better tyre than PSS's. When my existing tyre on the b8 is due, I'll be switching to them without question (and if I get to the ring next month as planned and the standard tyres are pants, possibly sooner!)

Those are PS2's not PSS's - quite a difference unfortunately.rspj wrote:Got bridgestones

Re: Heads Up - Tyres
Has anyone opted for the new MPS4S's yet? It would appear that road noise from them is up by 1dB (not huge but still up) with braking distance improved. I need to swap all four over imminently and I'm keen to hear any experience.

It's all torque talk.
Re: Heads Up - Tyres
Mine arrived a few days ago and are sitting in the garage alongside my summer alloys waiting for better weather. I'll be staying on my winter wheels and tyres for a while yet.
