It was a lot of work researching, emailing, phoning and negotiating. The latter I really enjoy so it was not to painful thankfully
Just looking forward to getting the car now, driving arouind in my wife's A3 TDI 2.0 is a bit different to my old Porsche...
9% discount - good? *deal done!*
Re: 9% discount - good?
Re: 9% discount - good?
So with some talk of discount available above the DTD discount, to be completely honest I've totally struggled to achieve it. I've called and visited many dealers but none of them want to go above the DTD 9-10%, which they really reluctantly want to match in the first place.
Whilst I've been looking I've ordered myself a new S6 slot and even started looking at C5 RS6's as I've lost patience, but ideally I'd like a new 4 if I could only find a dealer willing to play ball!
The best available 'stock' car for me (not silly specced) which Ive been offered so far is on this stock Misano that has £4.5k of option (sports, black, conv packs, leather, privacy and a few other bits). I really want to pull the trigger, but knowing others are achieving more is stopping me...
So for those who've achieved more than the DTD discount, do you know how they managed it, was it hidden in your p/x or was it something else? All I hear is "for an RS that's impossible" and they let me walk away.
Thanks again in advance

Re: 9% discount - good?
Large majority of my discount (around 18%) was attributed to the Audi and dealer contribution of circa £7k. This was about this time last year when I ordered. Not sure what current contribution is
Current: 2017 RS6 Performance in Nardo Grey
Previous: 2014 RS4 in Sepang Blue; 2011 Q5 3.0TDi Sline Plus in Ibis White; 2007 Audi S5 4.2 V8 in Phantom Black; 2006 VW Golf GTi in Tornado Red; 1998 VW Golf 1.9 TDi in Navy Blue; 1988 VW Polo 1.0 in Gold
Re: 9% discount - good?
£2k is the current contrib from AUK (and 4.9%APR) which is ontop of the 9-10% discount you can negotiate by quoting DTD prices.Moonmonkey831 wrote:Large majority of my discount (around 18%) was attributed to the Audi and dealer contribution of circa £7k. Re: 9% discount - good?
So what is the net discount with the £2k
Re: 9% discount - good?
c13%. You can't discount OTR costs so the £1505 has to come off before applying discount.HYFR wrote:So what is the net discount with the £2k
Some on here have recently achieved 15-18%, which although doesn't sound a big difference, would be another £1500-3000 discount on that car.

Re: 9% discount - good?
So you are not far. 18% was the peak and it had a higher rate (6.9/7.9?) which is worth a few k
So I think toads equivalent of the 18% given the low rate is 14-15% all in ... So you are not far, and if you like a stock car, take it now else wait 4-5months
The red one looks fantastic
I'd pass on an S6! Depreciation a-bomb !

Re: 9% discount - good?
Earlier in this thread Copperband said he achieved 18% at the current campaign 4.9% rate, which is what I have been basing my target on, if only I could find a dealer to play ball!HYFR wrote:So you are not far. 18% was the peak and it had a higher rate (6.9/7.9?) which is worth a few k

9% discount - good?
I very much doubt he did, and if so that is very much not the norm and I'd guess a Px may have been involved or extreme goodwill based on previous custom or a stock order needing shifting
Re: 9% discount - good?
My dealer matched the DTD deal, which at the time (last autumn) was around 13% discount with APR of 4.9%. I would think that DTD is the best you can hope for, as borne out by the reaction of the dealers you've spoken to and i would be sceptical of anyone on the forum claiming that there's more to be had. Bottom line is if a dealer matches the DTD price you've done well, I wouldn't lose too much sleep wondering if there's a better deal out there because there probably is not.

Re: 9% discount - good?
Which dealer ? Must have been desperate to hit target
9% discount - good?
Physical car not factory order that's the difference here. If the dealer is sat on it they'll be willing to lob some extra discount in.
18% is not a realistic target for a factory order, 13% is good. New year now targets reset dealers will be less keen.
I'd be ringing Kings Lynn, see what they'll do.

I'm not necessarily bothered what dealer it is (because I believe all dealers have the ability of they're willing) but I'm interested to know how the 18% is broken down across £Dealer Contrib, £Audi Contrib and £P/x...?

9% discount - good?
The break down is above. Discount on car plus 2k from AUK, no part ex in that equation. It's 16.5% all in, not 18%.
As already stated you have to be realistic, and 18% is a right place right time number.
