In fairness to my other half she pays as much of the bill as I do so I have to sell the purchase.

She loved the R32, the RS6 and now the 4, though she's barely driven that, mostly when I've been incapable through man drink. She didn't think much of the 3 and I saw her points, the A1 has top billing though. Groan.

However my mid life crisis man maths has not been rejected. Yet.

An R8 is actually a much easier seller to the wife than turning up on the drive with a Lamborghini or Ferrari
For one, she's going to consider it considerably less expensive than either (if I put a brand new R8 v10+ and an old 360 in bright red in front of mine, she say the ferrari cost more every time) and secondly, she's less likely to think you're going to run off with a 25yr old big breated blonde in the Audi as you could potentially do in a ferrari or lambo

My Gallardo saving fund got renamed to V10+ fund a couple of months back after a day in one and she seemed happy

Ha ha! She'd challenge me to run off with a dolly bird for her own amusement. Admittedly it would likely be highly entertaining for onlookers.

I agree it comes across as less flashy, and fundamentally it is in many ways. It's also not going to bend you over like a 'rarri would come service time.
