So long it is not over 5 years old when you come to do a deal, my dealer won't even consider p/xing my RS4 against a new one because it is too old. The base will be arounf £55-57 and on the Geneva stand they reckoned with essential options [dynamic steering + torque vectoring / sports diff + bits (buckets)] you'll easily add £5-10k on so minimum £60K for one, more likely £65K or even £70K with ceramics
Feck me :assflash: :audibash: for that price supercharger it is on my current RS4
Currently Mondeo ST155 & Titanium X Sport

Well done. I find it interesting that you're "on a list".

My previous comments on this matter have always resulted in "there is no official list", type comments.
Who holds this list ?

When I had previously place a deposit on such a purchase... there was no real list as such.....
Just an intent of interest with a certain dealer.
VW Toe-rag V6 R-line.... no curry hooks...wtf ?
Gone: Avus Avant B7 RS4.... plus curry hooks !

tim, dealers get allocations, so a certain dealer can only "get" a certain number of RS 4's in a given year ... they can be smart and get allocations from other dealers with some wheeling and dealing ... The B8 wont be limited production (in numbers), so putting down deposits and being on lists will only mean you get yours "first" or sooner ... depends if that floats your boat or not

realistically though it's the same price roughly as the RS5.

i think the RS 5 will look pretty good value compared to a brand new RS 4 if you dont need an avant or rear doors .... same car, half the price

But more worryingly if it handles as bad and gets poor reviews the RS4 values will plummet just as quickly!

The rep on the stand was essentially trying to say the engine and s-tronic characteristics that many felt were the -ves on the RS5 would suit the RS4 better because it was an estate and therefore an uber tourer. So essentially it is a car the C4 Picasso drivers would buy if they have more money?

Thats hilarious to think a piccaso driver is a typical wanna be RS4 owner,no wonder they dont listen to current owners concerns.Banking on current piccaso owners dropping the lotto or a huge increase in salary is not a good bussiness ethic to base sales on.But hey im not too suprised as ive been told by a senior designer over here (germany) thats after research its us that wanted the more subtle recent stying of RS cars.....go figure!

Well, I collected my RS4 from Rob at Camberley this afternoon after driving around in a 2011 B8 S4 saloon for 2 weeks and, whilst I still grinned when I started the old girl up (the S4 sounds pretty pants tbh), it immediately felt it's age after the S4....It was an enjoyable drive back home but there were several things about the newer B8 S4 that I missed and for me it highlighted that the new RS4, whilst not looking as good as my B7 avant from the pictures, will be a great overall car for my needs and I look forward to seeing the price list and of course driving one in the flesh...

I also have a test drive of an Alpina D5 with Sytner in a few weeks which will be v interesting (I had a D3 for 12 months a few years ago and it was a cracking car) but the RS4 ticks more boxes at the moment.... :D

I am very conscious that I may be turning into an old fart by enjoying a slightly more 'comfortable ride' and loving the S-Tronic box of the S4 but I'm sure as hell not considering a picasso at this stage...... :<beep>_you:
08 Daytona Avant, SS+, Optics, Titan Alloys, Privacy glass etc...

Be interested to see what you think of the D5

I had the new M5 for a long weekend and 600 miles and got tired of the lack of traction!
