Wish I had hard evidence that it is doable. Is that possible?

Smaller disc on RS4 I think.

yeah I think it is; done some research today - and there's a guy on here who sells a kit for the B7's; now if I read it right that kit is actually based on the one for the R8 and the B8; i.e. callipers are the same - I came to this conclusion because there is a lot of fuss about the spacer that you need to fit behind the B8R8 disc to make it fit the B7 - I think the red badboys are even mentioned. It all unfolds in here:

Maybe time to ask Littledevil ?

Ceramics fitted here to a S5 - viewtopic.php?f=45&t=102354

No hard evidence regarding a B8 RS4 retrofit I'm afraid, no-one has been prepared enough to stump up the cash to buy the parts yet. It will be possible though!

I quite like the grey as it stands out as Audi ceramics to me (much like Porsche use yellow). Red can be on the normal steel discs too. It does look good though

Yeah my problem is it being ltd; and having the red callipers front and back - i quite like the idea of keeping that redness; but with a little matte effect for those in the know?

Re: Squeaky Brakes - Tech Services Bulletin?

Post by RS_Four » Thu Jun 18, 2015 2:14 pm

Hi guys,

Just a quick note to say hi as I'm new to this forum and am wondering if anyone can help/advise me on this issue?

I've owned my Misano red B8 RS4 for a couple of months which I absolutely love! Had lots of nice cars over the years including S4, 911's etc but think RS4 is easily the best one yet for what I need and how I drive ;-)

I've been reading a few of the posts on here over the past couple of months paying particular attention to the squeaky brake syndrome as my motor also suffers the same low speed brake squeal (particularly in warmer weather and after it's been washed). I took car to local Audi dealer and went for drive with a Master Technician who clearly heard the brake squeal. He advised service desk to pre-order replacement parts and my car is currently in service today being checked over, striping and cleaning brakes etc. Just spoken to service advisor and I'm not convinced they will automatically replace the brakes if they don't hear the squeaky brakes today tho.

Does anyone know if there is an Audi Technical Service Bulletin for this problem with the b8 RS4?

I mentioned to service that this appears to be a problem with a number of RS4 owners but he advised there is no official TSB...

Thanks for any advice on this.

Cheers

I asked the question with Audi whether B7 and B8 ceramics are the same when I was looking for a B8 with ceramics, with the possible crazy thought that if I couldn't find one, maybe I could fit those from my B7 and fit steels back on the B7. Apparently the part numbers are different. They were unable however to tell me what the actual difference is. I'm sure a specialist brake supplier would be able to answer the question?

Several B7 owners have looked into fitting B8 discs and IIRC they found that the inner diameter and offset are both different.
