Lets see if it has the great handling of the B7 chassis

I doubt it, all the ride and handling experts that worked at Audi and developed the B7 left a couple of years ago - hence why current Audis have returned to having the handling of a barge.

How'd you know that? Moved within the VW group or gone elsewhere?

Doesn't bode well at all in that case.

It's been well publicised in the motoring press, and been confirmed by my contacts at the car manufaturer I used to work for.

They've left the VAG group.

So, lets join the dots ...

B8 A4 facelift due late 2011 / early 2012 (think B6 - B7 ... B7 A4 same out on a 55 for customer deliveries, B7 RS on a 06)

http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArtic ... rs/258225/

and A5 facelift, contains no reference whatsoever to the RS 5, despite the blurb saying it covers the entire range and many pics of the S5 ... and the removal of the V8 S5

So

Conclusion

RS 5 to cease production 2012

RS 4 to start production 2013

anyone a betting man ?

:biggrin3:

I know this was only a typo Dave - earliest B7s were 54 plate.

There was never a B7 on a '54! Believe me

First ones registered in the country were 05's. Which we Audi UK cars, then customer deliveries began on a 55

Saw my first B7 inside the showroom of Motorworld Oxford Kidlington Christmas 2004, but customer deliveries won't have come until Jan 2005. I see the same 54 plate most mornings on the way to work.

Didn't think any would have been registered on a 2004, but a very quick glance brings up this one on autotrader, probably a demonstrator originally

(I merely searched for 2.0 engines registered 2004, as all the B6s would have been 1.9 TDIs or 1.8 T petrols)

ah ha !

I stand corrected ! what a fool

you are right then Ian, I must be 6 months out of sync ... '54 for Audi UK and 05 for Customer Deliveries

I also didnt think they did the 1.9TDI for the B7, but for the very early ones they did

Yeah I think the 1.9 soldiered on for a while as an entry engine with 100 / 105 bhp (same basic state of tune as 1.9 TDI Mk5 Golf, Fabia etc etc)
