Brakes on RS4's are funny things. Once, I drove to dover on the way to the ring with no problem. The next day straight off the ferry they started to rumble. It did my head in big time. Got to Cologne and the next day they were fine. Figure that one out. Mental. Did the weekend at the ring, drove to Berlin, rumble rumble, got home, drilled out the holes. brake cleaner and mega jet wash and all was good and Covkiller was a happy bunny once more.
I currently drive to Barrow in Furness every Monday and back on Thursday night 380 miles. I absolutely red line, rinse it out at every opportunity of the journey. I'd love to see my RS4 going by at 160. Anyway, I have to stand on my brakes as the odd reetard pulls out. I have no rumble at all. AP disks and DS2500's.

Think I'm gonna have to slam on more often. I'm using DS2500 with stock discs. Won't the pad transfer make them worse by hitting them hard? You're right though. Well put. They're very peculiar brakes these.

Reading this and your love to red line and blow the cobwebs away at every opportunity (not knocking that though!) but as your route to Barrow no doubt involves the M6, then I'm sure you are aware that the Cumbria speed enforment van regularly parks on motorway bridges during the day from J35 northwards, snapping motorists doing 77mph and above. They don't even give you the 10% + 2mph that most other areas allow. Never been caught myself, but I have a couple of mates and one work colleague who have been caught. I also know that an unmarked Lancashire police vehicle was also caught, apparently just travelling from A to B and not on a rush job, and it wasn't brushed under the carpet either......

Oo er, thanks for that, I'll keep a look out. Nothing there over the last 5 weeks at 7.44am.

It's a yellow van, and it usually finds a spot that is concealed from the sight line of the approaching driver by another bridge, or gradual bend in the carriageway, and by the time you see it, it is too late.......
