9% discount - good? *deal done!*
Re: 9% discount - good?
There a Phantom 2013 Avant with 26500 miles on the clock for 37k on Autotrader Privately if you can arrange the finance yourself. Poole / Bournemouth area code I think. Thats a mountain of car for the money!

Re: 9% discount - good?
The S6 was face-lifted last month so all used cars are now hit hard residually. They are also like rocking horse sh*t at the dealers, with them pricing them very strong.Ian_C wrote:If you are not hugely fussed about spec or buying used, the S6 is the used bargain of the moment. The earliest cars dip under 40k. A 40k S6 cannot possibly depreciate more over 24 months than a brand new 55/60k RS4. And over a 24 month timeframe, the S6 will still be the current shape, whereas the RS4 will absolutely not be.kmpowell wrote:C7 A6 2.0TDi S-Line............ had the A6 since. TBH with you I need some performance back in my life. The RS6 is out of reach, the S6 suffers horrendous residuals on PCP, so I'm looking at the RS4 instead which seems to do all I need. It'll be a bit a squeeze at times given I have a whippet as well as a baby to cart around, but I'm sure we'll cope.
Residually a 2yr PCP on a used £40k pre-facelift car the figures come back at c£20k GFV, and on a £61k new facelift S6 the GFV is £30k. On a new RS4 it's coming back at £35k. So where on a 2yr PCP every £1k difference is equal to £36pcm, an RS4 is cheaper by a huge amount. Not to mention an RS4 is also on 4.9% campaign, where as a now S6 is on 7.2%, and each 1% is equal to £30pcm difference pcm.
In short the S6 would be practically better, but an RS4 makes much more financial sense.
BTW, the used S6 on Autotrader has been there for nearly 3mths without selling. That tells you all you need to know about the S6 market.

Oh my word, that's low!kmpowell wrote:Residually a 2yr PCP on a used £40k pre-facelift car the figures come back at c£20k GFV
You could always sort the finance yourself (and buy from anywhere rather than just Audi) but then of course you'd have to dispose of the car yourself at the end too rather than just hand it back to Audi

Re: 9% discount - good?
What's the monthly and deposit on the 2yr PCP.
Your best bang for buck is to go 19's and buy a set of 20's off eBay for the same price as the option

Re: 9% discount - good?
The best deal I've been offered so far is 10% off. So...HYFR wrote:What's the monthly and deposit on the 2yr PCP.
£5760 Dealer Discount
£2000 Audi Contribution
£2000 Equity in my p/x
£2000 My own money deposit
With £2560 of options specced, the OTR cost after discount and deposit is £47,345, which works out at £715pcm on a 2yr PCP (£35k GFV)
A used one is very expensive in comparison.

Re: 9% discount - good?
This is what I've just done for the wife's Golf R, bought a billy basic spec then bought some 19" alloys for a couple of hundred quid more then VW wanted for the upgrade, but I've got a spare set of wheel to sell. I done the same with the F-Type alloys.HYFR wrote:What's the monthly and deposit on the 2yr PCP.

Those figures for the used S6 make me realise how good the deal on the R was, 2 year GFV is a shade over £23k, the car was £28k after discount so the most I can loose is £5k, even adding the interest is a very cheap car.
Re: 9% discount - good?
So £4k, £715 pcm. Not too bad.
Re: 9% discount - good?
Yeah the Golf R is the bargain of the century
Re: 9% discount - good?
With my chosen options, yes. For every £1000 more/less in options you add/minus £36 from the monthly payment. The same goes for the deposit, add/minus £36 from the monthly for every £1k movement.HYFR wrote:So £4k, £715 pcm. Not too bad.

It was better back in Q1 thou
Re: 9% discount - good?
Better than 10% dealer discount, 4.9% APR and £2k Audi deposit contribution?HYFR wrote:It was better back in Q1 thou

Re: 9% discount - good?
..all in it was 18% discount but Apr was 6.9 iirc
Re: 9% discount - good?
Back to spec. I think this is my maximum spec on an Ibis car (yes I'm cheap, I don't want to pay for paint)...
20" V spokes
Black Pack
Black Mirror Housings
Privacy Glass
Load Area Fixing Kit
Hill Hold Assist
Storage Pack
All I need to decide is if I a) spec the 20's and/or b) spec the 'black bits'...
Choices choices.

Re: 9% discount - good?
No sports pack? I think that's a big miss if you want quick resale.
Re: 9% discount - good?
The car will need to be a comfortable cruiser as well as a play thing, becasue we have all our respective parents 200+miles away. With that in mind I'm a bit worried the sports exhaust might be 'boomy' on the motorway?doodlebug wrote:No sports pack? I think that's a big miss if you want quick resale.
If not, I'd spec the sports pack and ditch the black bits to pay for it...
