I was deciding between a GTR and RS4, and comfort of the SS and fit and finish of the RS4 made me realise the SS suits the car better. RS4 is a fantastic all rounder and I decided the SS is more compatible that way.

Can't argue with Graeme's comments on his B8 bucket experience.....

but after a 2.5yrs in a B7 with buckets and a year in an RS3 with ss seats I ordered my B8 with buckets as it's must do tick box for overall the RS experience and never had a bad back from buckets and I've got a 15st 6ft frame...

Hope that helps

+1 for the buckets ! I agree entirely with the above statement. A must for the true RS experience in my opinion.

You can get SS in a friggin A3 1.6l TDI. Do you want an RS with the same seats as some A3s out there? No! Also the A3 SS seats look better than the SS in the RS4/5, how rubbish is that. :audibash:

I've had both buckets and SS in previous cars and if you do have the option (i.e. you're not too large or you haven't got to consider elderly people etc) then go for buckets. You just feel like you're entering a high performance car as soon as you get in.

I used to drive 5 hours journeys in the RS 5 with buckets and didn't encounter any problems in regards to comfort. Just make sure you empty your pockets before you get in as that can be annoying, especially if you have advanced key and you leave your key in your pocket.

I do love the buckets but do wish they were electric with a memory function. My wife always drives my car too and it's handy function to have for switching back and forth.
