I want to go the Replacement Vehicle Route as that seems to suggest the vehicle would be replaced like for like no matter what it cost, yet it seems only to have a £25000 claim limit like the return to invoice gap. So how can they offer you a five year replacement vehicle policy if it would take more than £25000 to replace your vehicle like for like ?

The list price on my car before discount is £69000, so how long do you think it would take before and insurance payout plus a gap of £25000 wouldn't replace the vehicle ? Have I just asked a stupid question ? LOL
right i've just checked my docs and i paid £150 for 3yrs cover with £50000 claim limit (return to invoice £64000) from my local dealer when i picked up my new rs4,also paid £150 for 3yrs cover to have 5x replacement tyres or as many as req punchture repairs claim limit £250 per
sound like youre not pushing your dealer hard enough esp if you are buying a new car from them :bigblink:

This is the exact reason I started this thread because I haven't tried to push my dealer at all. I simply wanted ammunition before I tried and if thats not ammunition I don't know what is. LOL. You seem to have got a fair deal there eightfoot !

I assumed though that the dealers only supplied return to invoice gap which obviously works if you paid full retail for the car, but for many of us here who have got decent deals recently, I would assume invoice price wouldn't buy us the same like for like car if the inevitable happened in a few years time when no deals where available and it has had a few year on year price increases. So that was my reason for looking at ALA replacement vehicle gap.

invoice price will show price BEFORE dicscount is applied,i think it worked out about £53000 that i actually paid after discount and px,you need to have a salesman you trust to be sure you are getting a good deal,i paid mine off within 10 days of signing the finance agreement (tip from someone that knows the system) all it cost me was £70 intrest :beerchug:

Ended up going with return to invoice from Audi. 4 years for £350 !

Unfortunately I'm told the Audi unlimited gap policy is apparently only for cars up to 50 grand...... all cars over that have a limit of a 25 grand payout, and are not unlimited !

Irrespective I'm happy and hope to never need it anyway.......

dont know who your dealer is (most policys are not audi but 3rd party) but i got 50000 limit for mine and dont forget its tranferable if you buy another new car,my previous rti policy only had 25000 limit but as you have already said the car value was to high so i had to cancel and buy a new policy but you do get the full value of outstanding policy when refunded, tyre policy has no refund or transfer but i usaully get my moneys worth back (had 1x new tyre allready) :bigblink: :beerchug: (check your policy as most return to invoice still have a claim limit)
