Will an S4 space saver fit?

Post by Scammo1 » Sun Nov 22, 2020 9:51 am

The puncture repair can which comes with our cars is a joke and it doesn’t seem like a space saver was even an option when new, so was wondering if the 19inch space saver which was an option for the S4 would fit or if the RS4 stud measurements are unique.

Thanks

The rs4 stud pattern is a pretty generic 5x112 , but it will be the wheel offset that needs to be understood to see if it’s compatible. I’ve never spent any time to understand offsets so I’m afraid I can’t help.

Thanks.
Was also told that the size of the callipers may be a problem.

Might be best to source a spare wheel

19” will definitely fit over standard RS4 steel brakes.

Having just got my RS4 (this weekend), migrating over from BMW (with runflats) a can of tyre repair seems a bit hit & miss for a high end vehicle?

I looked in the boot when purchasing the car and I recall seeing some bits in / around the battery - so i suppose i should familiarise myself with it all - any tips welcome.

What do you hardened RS owners use? A s/saver seems like a good idea....

Thanks

Last month I got a puncture which triggered the tyre pressure warning system, it correctly identified the punctured tyre too.
There was a hole in the tyre which required a big compressor to re-inflate, the toy one in the boot did not manage it! So I had to take the wheel off and get it repaired as the air was leaking out too quickly. If I was stuck out then I would have used the gunge but have now also suffered a similar issue on my daily driver that required a new tyre I’m thinking the best option is to have something to screw into the hole first (assuming that you can find it of course) as in all my years of motoring I have only ever had nails or screws stick in the tyre not a big hole!
I believe you can get a cork screw type repair for this which snaps off - will need to look for them.
