Creaking Sunroof

Post by nf2029 » Tue Aug 15, 2017 7:05 pm

Hi all,

I have had my RS4 for a couple of months now and either I have never noticed it before or it has become loose, now when I go over lumps and bumps in the road I get lots of noise coming from the sunroof where I think it is moving around. Is there a way of tightening it at all? Is it possible the dealer did this for me before they handed it over and now it has worked loose again?

Many thanks,

Nick

Is it the actual sunroof loose or just the seals creaking like a old ship. Mine does the same and all you really is some Gummi Pflwdge on the seals

I am not sure, it almost sounds like a knocking noise as opposed to a rubber noise if that makes sense?

99% middle rubber seal. Get the G 052 141 A2 lubricant and libricate it WELL while opened. I have been dealing with this issue for a long time, even had car serviced at local audi dealer but still the same issue after third roof opening after service. Done that by myself and its silent now for a month. You really have to lubricate it well with prety good amount of paste :)

So I got some of this from Amazon:

SONAX 03400000 Rubber Care

It hasn't really made any difference. There seemed to be lots of gunky paste in the tracks. I wonder if that was someone lubricating it beforehand and now it has dried up.
