Steering, struggling to find a setting I like
Had the 2014 B8 RS4 for about 3 weeks now. I'm yet to find a steering setting that I like. It just feels heavy all the time, especially at lower speeds (30mph). Is it me or anybody else had the same issues?

Sorry, should of added that. Dynamic Steering as part of the Sports Package so car has DRC as well

No problem. Just thought I'd check, as some cars don't have the adaptive steering and that could feel different.
I have the same steering rack as you and in ADS (Audi Driver Select) Dynamic mode, I do find the steering too heavy at low speed. However the Dynamic steering setting at speeds above 50ish is good, as it's less fidgety.
So, I've found that having the ADS in Individual mode and then utilising the Auto setting for steering works really well. Around town and for parking situations you get the light Comfort steering, then when you want to press on, it increases the resistance to Dynamic levels for when you’re travelling at speed. This is a great all round setting for the steering (good for suspension too) and have been really impressed by it - as I'm always sceptical of anything 'Auto' but Audi have clearly put some development time into this.

I'm always in individual and have everything in dynamic apart from the suspension.
I used to have steering in comfort or auto, but changed to dynamic. Heavy at first, but it suits me and the car, I feel, better. Maybe it's the contrast with the wife's discovery which has featherweight steering.

I'm using comfort and have the dynamic steering and find it can be heavy in certain circumstances but prefer it over dynamic. On the motorway if there is a long corner and I'm just cruising I would like it to be lighter say.

These cars are alignment sensitive, they can be quite fidgety requiring regular inputs to correct the steering.
A good test is a flat straight road, pull towards the centre line and take both hands of the wheel. It should wander towards the gutter in around 7 seconds. Mine was doing this in 3 seconds, I'd definetly recommend a good quality alignment setup even on the standard DRC.
I have mine in comfort all the time and have plenty of feedback and weight. Although when Marc1 who has a B7 drives mine he prefers dynamic for the steering.

This is good stuff! The auto always confuses me. I couldn't tell the difference between comfort and auto. I'm now thinking that I Was probably comparing it only at low speeds! Will give this a try.
I do wonder if it's possible to tune the steering. At the end of the day I think it's just force feedback. So should be able to change this... What to! Not sure yet. But I'd like to stop needing to over correct when pushing on. Just feels a little delayed.

Auto will tend to be in comfort by default. However, if you start driving more spiritedly then you'll notice it move towards dynamic, being a bit more aggressive on the gear changes, feeling stiffer (suspension and steering) and particularly when the exhaust note changes! It's as if the car says "oh, hello, you want to play?" 
I admit I tend to leave it in auto much of the time, perhaps flicking to sport with the gear stick if I'm going to play or just letting it work it out for itself. I really ought to try the manual more often, other then dropping a cog or two to give more engine braking on hills, but I've got a bit lazy and too be honest I still prefer a stick shift rather than flappy paddles.

I drove in auto for the first year and it always annoyed me so I switched
To individual with all in auto apart from steering that is set to comfort.

The RS3 guys have adjusted the weight of the steering using VCDS. It is at 100% by default and they have lowered it to 60% to make it heavier. Not sure if you can increase it to over 100 to make it lighter though.
I assume you can do the same for the RS4. They needed the security code to do it too.

I use individual all the time and pick my settings, this is the ideal choice for me. I can't remember them all and the wording but I know the steering is Auto so at low speeds it lighter and and at higher speeds its heavier and you don;t wander all over the road. The lock to lock changes too as wheel as the weight.
