Perhaps but the latest C7s have 4g.bobbyRS wrote:Would 4G make any difference?
I understood that the RS4 was only 3G?
Data sim
Re: Data sim
Re: Data sim
Its on prepay Sims from ebay. Cost much more direct from EE. But it is twice the price of the 12gb / 12month 3 option. However I have 6gb per 3 months as opposed to 12gb over 12 months. I guess it depends on how much data you will use. If 12gb per year is enough then the 3 option is really good.Palmball wrote:Probably not, no. And it's 3G not 4G.MikeFish wrote:Hi Andrew. I don't think three have as good coverage as EE do they? And is that for 4g or 3g? With my wife and kids all using the cars wifi then 1gb a month os not enough for me. But it is the same cost per gb as mine so if they have as good coverage in 4g then I'll take a look, thanks
However......I've never felt I have coverage problems and 3G seems quick enough for what the car uses it for.
Is your deal on EE on a contract or prepay? If it matches the cost of Three then I'd stick with EE, although roaming could be pricey if used abroad (the reason I chose Three).
What I can say is that EE and Three have much better data coverage than o2!
Re: Data sim
I only use the data for the nav / traffic functions really - I guess if I was using it for other things like music then the 12gb wouldn't approach a years worth of use.
To be frank, I'm undecided on whether Audi's system of forcing the owner to get their own sim is better than BMW / Merc, who provide the connectivity as part of the car (and free for the first few years). It's more hassle that's for sure, but the Audi does give a faster connection. Still, the online functionality is some way short of what BMW Connected drive offered two years ago (even in my R8 with the latest virtual cockpit), which offers things like gmail syncing and proper web browsing etc (just very slow, although it may be quicker these days).
