Black RS4 badge and Audi front and rear rings

Post by Silver7 » Mon Mar 14, 2016 9:39 am

Hi All, as I am sure this has been researched before but could anyone please let me know the best supplier for gloss black Audi rings and a black RS4 badge in the correct size and quality. Car is Suzuka grey with black optics so the chrome seems out of place. Any guidance appreciated. I assume you can buy genuine Audi ones?
Also does anyone know the distance between the S and the 4 on the rear badge, stupidly forgot the measure this before removal!

Already on my second she'll fuel voucher!

You can always remove the badges in the back, they are glued so no holes. The front rings are a different story, maybe look at ebay, plenty of interesting aftermarket stuff available. Or if you remove everything else, maybe the front rings in chrome wouldn't be that bad?

Thanks for the reply, I do fancy the RS4 badge tbh, not 100% on the rear rings though

Audi don't make black badges so you have to go aftermarket.

Raywell design seem to to be the most popular choice nowadays. I used them on my 6 and have no problems.

Apparently the RS4 badge is smaller than OE, has anyone tried painting an OE one?

The RS4 badge is B7 size not B8.5 where it's slightly bigger. Front and rear rings are very good quality, I just haven't got round to fitting mine.

+1 They are slightly smaller but there is nothing else to compare against and once changed you can't tell.

I did try to paint the front badge but after a few washes the paint started to flake.

I also switched to black badges from raywell on my r8, front badge exactly the same size but the back was slightly bigger.
When removing you will need a hair dryer to soften the glue and plenty of dental floss to remove.
Once badges removed the hardest part is getting the remains of the sticker off (I had 3 blisters on my fingers), once off I used goo gone and merguirs polish to make sure you could see no stains or glue....
Top tip is to put some masking tape around badges before removing so you know exactly were the replacement goes.....

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Now if only I knew the distance between the s and the 4! To fit the front rins you have to remove the grill or break the ols ones?

Silver, reply to PM sent.

I had all my work done by Jack Barclays Audi Service Centre - front & rear badges & rings plus wing mirrors. I have to say I can't fault the works at all. No peeling and a perfect finish throughout. This was done almost 2 years ago and bar some minor stone chipping to the front rings, they are as new.

No where near as cheap for sure, but worth it in my honest opinion.
It's all torque talk.

Do Raywell still sell these. Nothing listed on their website?

I have a Suzuka Grey with black optics and sports pack so would go well with the back I think.
