Re: B8 RS4 MY updates - the list
I'm wondering whether Stop / Start* cruise control functionality was added to the ACC in an update after October 2013?
* not engine stop start.
My car is 2013 edition.
When approaching queueing traffic, my ACC will decelerate / brake the car down from the approach speed to 20mph or until the car's speed is equal to the vehicle in front. Then the ACC will disengage with a beep.
However my handbook (replacement handbook issued in November 2014) describes stop / start functionality, which suggests that the ACC doesn't disengage at circa 20mph but brings the car to a halt and / or manages the distance as speeds less than 20mph. Admitedly the handbook then describes having to tap the accelerator or pull the ACC lever to restart the car in standstill traffic but the implication is that the ACC is then able to work in a stop start capacity in traffic at speeds <20mph.
Am I simply not understanding things or was there an update to cars to introduce low speed or stop / start ACC?
Any answers appreciated, I know I could ask a dealer but I sense that it would take quite a bit of explaining until we got to an answer!

I have a march 14 which is facelift/latest spec
Behaviour for me is ACC stays in control down to around 15mph, unless some numpty tries to outbrake lewis hamilton and then i get a bing and it disengages
At 15mph, its the behaviour you describe and i restatt it using the stalk

My October '14 is the same, although the cut-off speed seems to be more like 12mph.S4WON wrote:I have a march 14 which is facelift/latest spec

As far as I know, the stop/start traffic-jam function requires the second front radar which you get on the A6.

Mine was one of the last from the factory in 2015 and the cruise control is the same as yours.
The manual actually states that it will stop in stationary traffic then start again. However there is a loose page addendum that says this is NOT the case!
