You will need to take out the Audi head thingies in the seats, small screwdriver is needed.

Agreed if your child is too tall then they need a bigger one, but we are talking about whether the little 'un is big enough to ride in the seat with the kind of strap support it offers which will come down to weight. They don't normally mention minimum height do they? I think they just quote age and weight, the age part being a rough guide I believe.

Pretty sure they quote height too, that was certainly our problem. Weight was never really a factor! Agreed you need to be sure the seatbelt is OK over seat with straps.

So rspj, if your 3 year old doesn't weigh 15kg buy them some burgers and get the Recaro.
She's very small for age as she was born 12 weeks early weighing 2lbs

I assume she's out of the rear facing seat. Take a look at the Maxi Cosi Tobi.

I have the Besafe izi Combi x3
It's a great seat that can be set as rear facing (my preference as its the safest option) or front facing. Rear is via ISOFIX and front is seatbelt.
The trade off with going for the rear facing option is that as their legs get longer you end up moving the front seat further forward than if they are front facing with legs lower.
For info, ISOFIX is purely a fixing standard, it is no safer than using the belt. In tests both types have to be tested to the same standard and no test has ever been published that puts ISOFIX safer.
To be honest the biggest issue with car seats is the harnessing, a shudder when I see how badly most parents strap the child in.

The RS4 has very deep seats as standard which makes for quite a space compromise if the parents in the front are tall and need the front seat set back.

We got the Recaro Monza Nova IS it looks like the one in the above links but it has an in impact shield if your child is too short or small to have the seat belt over them. It can be fitted with or without iso fix and adapts until they are 12 through all the stages so you won't need to buy another. Also highly rated by 'Which'.

Fair play audi_driver, yeah mine were just old enough to manage without the baton thingy.

As for ISOfix, from a certainty and sporting driving point of view it is GREAT - the seats just don't move around.

My non-Recaro isofix moves less than than some isofix seats I've seen.
The difference between the isofix and non-isofix is that the isofix are easier to install and harder to install wrongly. With a seat belt fixed seat there is a big chance the fitter can get it in wrongly or badly. Less chance of that happening with isofix.

I use this one. Was a bit weird using the seatbelt instead of a harness. You can use seatbelt only or isofix & seatbelt. It's a doddle to remove and fit. Great if family members want to take sproglet out for a drive.

As mentioned Cybex are great, we've had two of their seats (Cloud and Sirona in Orange!) can't fault them.
Look great in the back of the B8.

Had a look at these at the weekend, and I have to say they seem excellent! Jasper is due to move into a 3+ seat soon, and I thought I was going to go for Recaro, but after seeing these in persona and reading the safety reports/reviews, the Solution-fix is now top of the pile! :thumb:

Our little boy has been in his since he was 9mth
and my wife loves the ease of getting him out of the seat because it spins and pivots so he can be facing out of the door ready to be lifted out
